Tom actually quit. Jones was right.

It really wasn't that bad, I have seen so many different eye poke reactions, Tom's reaction is not genuine.
You looking at it is different than getting it done to you. You don’t know what the effects were from his side do you? Let me poke you in your eyes, and then let’s fight! Some people have no clue

Jones is one of those guys who's a true warrior at heart. He can walk through the flames.

Someone like that is going to get subtle tells that another fighter has some give to their spirit.

Ultimately, it ended up being another brilliant moment of fight iq.

The guy simply sees infinitely more than most of us when it comes to fight iq and analysis.

Sometimes you either got that dog in you, or you dont. That's another big flaw with putting all your eggs in an unproven basket.

To have that level of faith and put that much credibility on someone, especially a HW, they better have been tested in every area.

But again, people have been overlooking common sense and logic for a long time because of their hate for Jones.

We aren’t heavy champions of the world. We’re all expected to do our jobs and live up to our job titles. Choosing cage fighting as a career and being at the pinnacle of it comes with some unusual job criteria… I think number 1 is probably “Don’t be a bitch.”

Rewatched the fight and it's hilarious how people are still acting like the eye POKES weren't a big deal, but also that Gane was dominating the fight and was going to KO Tom soon. Legit delusions of grandeur, y'all need to calm down lol.

show a picture of Toms bloody face and you'll see why

he panicked and wanted out

eez normal

I have watched the HD replay of the eye poke over and over and have noticed very clear signs that Tom was acting, here are the facts:

1. As soon as Tom's eye was poked, he actually seemed calm and didn't show any signs of blindness at all . In fact both of his eyes were fine after he got poked , he was walking gingerly to his corner. Tom wasn't actively squiniting or struggling to open his eyelid at all, he was fine. It was only until the doctor came in, then all of a sudden he is holding a towel against his eye and says he cant see.
2. During the eye poke, Tom's eyes were both closed and Gane's fingers never actually went inside.

I dont think anyone will change my mind that Tom actually quit, the quitting was as blatant as aljo's.

Gane was catching him with clean counters and forcing Tom to miss a lot, the difference in speed and range was also quite aparrent. Tom saw the opportunity to quit without penalty and shamlessly took it.

I would have believed Tom if he said his vision was blury and he can't see clearly, but the fact that he immediately said he can't see anything is very sus considering gane's finger's never made direct contact with Tom's eyeballs (just the eye lids).

nice another retard for me to block

IMHO..... tom saw a way out and took it. he was on his way to losing the belt... .probably started to believe in his own hype and realized the big boys are going to come out and play.

No we cant judge by the replay, but we can judge by the immediate reaction after the poke. Tom was seeing things fine before the doctors came in with a towel.

I tried giving aspinall the benefit of the doubt, but his reaction to the eyepoke didnt seem genuine.

So you think he's lying about not being able to see still?

How many of these threads are there? It's like every Sherdogger had to write their own diaries.

Even Google AI thinks it's a new term: "Eye poke gate" refers to the controversy surrounding the accidental eye poke in the main event of UFC 321 between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane, which ended the fight as a "no contest"

It’s kind of hilarious that Tom has 18 minutes of total octagon time and has been physically unable to continue in two fights. Jon has almost 6 hours inside the octagon. Lmfao
