Tom couldn't get the early knockout he was accustomed to. He went all in for a take down which Gane stuffed.

Talk about delusional! Tom didn't even come close to putting in serious effort on the takedown attempt (this is just plain fact, not a matter of opinion), and he pretty clearly was conserving energy in the first round (fact), as though he realized that Gane probably had good enough striking defense to make it out of the first so planned to fight multiple rounds and consult his corner between rounds before emptying the tank (educated guesswork/opinion about why Aspinall wasn't emptying his tank early).
