Aspinall doesn't have one important trait Jones have

Jones has shown to be more resilient, consistent, have a higher fight iq and whatever you want to add. The tiny, little problem with all of this is that Jon has fought only twice in the behemoth division. Once against a no heart french kickboxer with shit grappling and another one against a geriatric firefighter who once was an mma fighter. Weight classes exist for a reason, Jones biggest highlights and displays of greatness happened a division below against 6’2” dehydrated t rex armed men. Aspinal is not that lol. He’s bigger, younger and hard to dominate on the ground. Jones is avoiding this fight for a reason, just like he “retired” when the Francis fight was inevitable.

Can Jones win? Yes, anything can happen in mma. But you can’t tell me this isn’t an intriguing fight.

IIRC the toe injury happened literally seconds before the fight ended. and he didn't even know it had happened, as others are mentioning.

You guys still bringing that up after dropping last HW opponents like nothing? One that was touted as A level prodigy here LMAO

Size means nothing to him.

I would end your life in 1 minute, literally

Sorry, all I heard was quacking. Next?

Meanwhile, white belt Jones refused to get tapped by black belt TRT Vitor. The mental fortitude of this guy is unreal.

Then submitted black belt TRT Vitor in the end.

What was that from Aspinall?
Vitor was 20 pounds smaller than jones. Complete grappling domination was always expected in that fight

No actually next to no one thought Gane had a chance. Most of us were calling it a farse
Not true. After seeing your comment in this thread I typed “jones Gane” into the search function. There were countless old threads I perused that had many of you taking Gane by a mile. Also one in particular that had a pole and Sherdog was just about split.

I did see one thread made by you regarding reach that was 3 pages long but I will say you had a pretty logical viewpoint on the fight even then and picked jones.

havent seen tom outstrike great strikers
outwrestled great wrestlers
strangled legit bjj blackbelts

people hate it when i question this
and they cant give proof
are we like 12 year old kids here seriously?

if you wanna convince me then post facts
not your silly opinions

Anyone who favored Gane in that fight assumed he would get some tdd in a year of training instead of playing video games

The only thing that's going to convince people like you is if the fight actually happens, so you should spend your energy calling out Jones to take the fight

IIRC there were far more threads and comments saying Gane had no chance. Mma reddit perhaps thought Gane would win... but they're mostly casuals there

Damn bro, you created this thread and now the Tom nuthuggers are angry. You know any time Jon is mentioned Sherdoggers get upset like this.

You know HHH was taking a shit in this shot right?

Aspinall is fighting in a weak division and doesn't have an impressive resume so where is the hype coming from?
How he does it and how quickly it has been done.

No wiki bitch shit in here

One particular reason why I believes Jones will win because of the mentality difference between the two. Jones have shown to be extremely resilient and a tough nut to crack.

He fought with a broken toe but it didn't stop him from giving up and won the fight.

Compared to Aspinall who folded after landing a kick.

On top of that, he bull rushed, went straight to Blaydes and fought recklessly that led to his injury.

His knees, hip and eye orbital will be gone if he bull rushes and gets inside Jones like that.

Jones opponents who fought recklessly have said they received devastating injuries and was never the same afterward.

Edit - Post #18 to reinforce my argument

Don't forget what Glover's trainer said after the fight:

“I’ve never seen Glover lose a fight like this. I’ve never seen Glover bleeding. I’ve never seen Glover hurt so bad. Glover hurt his right shoulder really bad in the first round. The first round! That’s not an excuse, because Jon Jones hurt his shoulder.

“So, just like when Tyron Woodley hurt Condit’s knee, and then they said, well, he fought him with a hurt knee – yah, but Woodley hurt his knee. Jon Jones hurt Glover’s shoulder in the tie up on the clinch against the cage, tweaked his shoulder and he hurt it. So Glover couldn’t use his right hand very well… You see me in the corner trying to get him to throw that right hand harder. He told me in one round, ‘Hey, can you get some ice on it?'”

“Sometimes he has shoulder problems, from training too much. He never said he has an actual torn ligament, or torn tendon. So we found that out afterwards. It was obvious, it was actually disfigured and swollen. You could tell there was something seriously wrong with it. He’s going to have an MRI Wednesday.”

“The fact that he fought with it… besides the massive, gaping cut above his eye. Right above his eye. And the thinks that he has a broken rib too. But it wasn’t. Again Jon Jones caused all these injuries.”

Jones' fight IQ is the highest we have ever seen in my opinion, which is an extremely important trait. It's strange because his outside the cage IQ is sub 80.
