Dana doesn't like Ngannou and JJ doesn't like Aspinall

Francis has been through more trials and tribulations than Dana has dollar bills, so I highly doubt Francis cares one way or the other. That said, I don't know Francis, maybe he is a butthead.

Jones is definitely a butt head, but Jones is likely going to beat up Aspinall unless Father time has made his final appearance for Jon.

People Dana makes money off of he likes. Those he doesn't, he doesn't. Nothing new.

Francis really being tested by God. Jones really being tempted by drugs. Jones also not being tested by his or for drugs

In other words, Dana is butthurt at Frances and Jones is ducking Tom.
He isn't ducking Tom, much the same way neither him nor Ngannou ducked each other. Jon Jones realizes that he's getting into an age that getting more fights may jeopardize even more his health when older... And he has everything to lose, as that'd be likely his last fight. That doesn't mean he think he'll lose, just that he recognized Aspinall as dangerous and then, he likely believes he will win, but there's a gigh chance he doesn't. He has fought 30 times. Illia Topuria in a wayyyh shorter career thus far has made more than JJ in all his career. So I'd say that being his ast fight, he wants some compensation in case things doesn't work out. Not only this, but if this is the final best match up, he's right to ask for money.

Dana is the one who twists the narrative as soon as he sees a fighter asking more money though.

Read the situation carefully to make a more well backed argument.

He has no reason not to retire either. JJ said he would like to retire many times.
He might. He shouldn't though. At least GSP had the decency to vacate.

I keep hearing about potential Aspinall fights that are NOT with Jones and I'm like WTF?!

Being disliked by Dana only says something good about a person.

Welcome to low level business mixed with mid and high level business, but pawn and bishop for snakes and ladders and you post on Sherdog, and I do too, but we have shit to do.

Anyways, good day.

Jones has no real reason to dislike Aspinall
For you to say that like you’ve personally witnessed every interaction they’ve had is insane. But that actually goes into something I was thinking about recently.

How to know you’re a fanboy of someone?

You don’t think it’s ever possibly justified to dislike them under any circumstance or context. And if anyone does, they have to be a hater (no matter what the reason is).

And this doesn’t even apply to fighters, it can be in any avenue of life. No one is infallible. There’s good reason to dislike any human being in this planet.

I’m glad he got rid of Francis. Was sickened when Francis ran from stipe and avoided the trilogy. Probably the worst most dishonourable thing I ever witnessed in the ufc. Never got why people liked the thug.

I didn’t read the title or the thread.
Just glanced Dana’s name and zoned out thinking, is his mom really that surprised they both hate eachother, or that he turned out such an asshole? Like seriously.

If Jones is gonna beat up Aspinall, he better drink the holy grail of steroid cocktails first. Because the version I saw that beat up old man Stipe will look like he's stuck in mud vs Aspinall.

It absolutely baffles me that people could watch that fight and think "Yeah...yeah. That guy will beat Tom Aspinall. Definitely."

Yes...there's a chance Jones looks better if he agrees to fight Tom. That's possible. But IF that's the version we get...he's gonna get smoked.

Many in the fan base have been predicting Jones' demise for longer than I can remember. I'm firmly in the camp that says, ok, well, show me Mr. Aspinall. If he hangs around long enough he will certainly get beat, and it might be Aspinall that does it, but lets not act as if logic applies to Jones. He is one of the special talents from the last thirty years. Horrible dude, special talent.

Look at my join date. And I followed MMA since the late 90's (and trained and fought from 2004-2007). I bet on Jones when he beat Shogun for the belt, my guy. I'm an old head, nobody is telling me things about Jones that I dont know. And people on this site were telling me I was stupid, that paying juice on a prospect vs a proven champ like Shogun was so dumb, etc. And I tried telling them that Jones was a generational talent. And Jones beat Shogun like an adult throwing a child around.

The problem is that people hold onto the past, and think what they saw before is what they'll see next time. I get the "until someone proves differently..." argument but it's not like we haven't seen Jones vulnerable. He should've lost to Reyes but got a robbery. Santos could've beaten him (although I did give Jones that one). Gus took him to the brink in their first fight. He's not an invincible superman.

And now...he's getting old. He's fighting in a weight class he's not really suited for. He's still talented enough to beat a guy like Gane who's a mental midget and didn't seem to want to be there. Or an ancient Stipe who hadn't fought in 4 years. That's so so so much different than fighting a younger, confident, bigger, faster guy with more power who can also grapple.

Again...is it possible Jones turns back the clock and looks markedly better than vs Stipe? Sure. Likely? IMO...no. And IF he looks like that, he's not getput of the 2nd round. He will get blasted.

We're saying the same thing. There is possibilities on both sides, mainly for Jones because he is a special talent. If he wasn't I wouldn't give him a chance in H.E. double hockey sticks versus this young Aspinall on a tear. But man, Jon, he isn't to be underestimated, even in his dotage.

That's fair. I guess it's more "what kind of chance do you give him?" Some chance? Sure. A good one? Absolutely not.
