Economy Trump weighs giving Americans $2,000 from tariff revenues in bid for support

@Jeffy37

Quote me where I brought up bankruptcy rates.

I will always be here to keep you in check because you are weak. And a coward.

This one is for you.

It was your boyfriend that did. You liked the post.argued. Got emotional. And now trying to act tough. I'm here for you big boy

Right, so call it 4 grand and 2 grand per person. We'll call it 30 grand a year on housing and utilities. Where is the other 70K in income going?
Other CA expenses? I'm not whining about it. I chose to live and set up home in CA. I'm never leaving but people not understanding the expense of living in Silicon Valley is simply unaware.

Such as?

One can understand the cost of the Bay area and also realize describing someone making 115k as low income is insane.

The water and electric for a start up there were insane. You're happy in a 900sqft apartment for $2600 a month? And considering the increase as it being THE most expensive?

I already included that in the 30k for housing, unless you're telling me utilities cost more than 6 grand a year?

Happy or not is irrelevant to whether or not someone is low income. (I pay more than that for less space atm btw.) There are actual people who struggle to make rent and put food on the table in shittier spaces than yours or mine on a lot less income. Even in the Bay.

I really don't know why you are arguing here. Where do you live?

San Diego.

I'm arguing that giving stimulus checks to people making 6figures, even in the Bay Area, is regressive and dumb. Literally half of the people in the Bay Area make under ~115-130K. That's how insane it is to describe 115k as "low income" in one of the wealthiest areas of the entire country.
It had a really nice pool and jacuzzi which we used most weekends.
I don't knock someone for spending more for creature comforts, but again, low income people don't usually live in apartments with those amenities.

All said, I loved the weather but I'm so glad I'm out of it. Miss my friends, but don't miss hearing gun fire quite frequently...and I was in the nice part of San Jose. Don't miss being on lockdown at work.

I feel like your experience of San Jose isn't super representative. It's not paradise all the time but it's significantly safer than most major metro areas.
