Economy US-EU deal sets a 15% tariff on most goods and averts the threat of a trade war with a global shock

My choice of cars triggers you? What a pussy.

My question still stands, how does the American consumer benefit? Many American products are already 15% worse and now our manufacturing can be 15% lazier. At the same time we get a 15% extra tax on anything we buy from the EU.

How does the US consumer benefit?
You bitch about things being expensive in one thread then post this

I'm no economist so correct me if im wrong, but does the fact that prices have stayed the same indicate that big business is tanking a hit on this one?
Prices has not stayed the same. There's also a large lag between tariffs and price impacts feeling felt by customer in a lot of categories.

You were compiling about prices of gas
Not sure why you think this thread is about me or gas prices.

Back to the topic, how does the tariff deal help the American consumer? Looks like I gotta pay an extra 15% tax on my next car. How do I win here?

Which category do you think will be most affected?

By which set of tariffs? EU?

There will be some impacts to chip imports from EU fabs, but fab equipment is exempt. Beyond that, it'll mostly fall on "nice to haves" more than staples.

If we're talking more broadly, home appliances and anything with a display panel is probably next up for price increases. Beyond that, whatever else needs to be imported ahead of the holiday season.
