I'm sorry, I thought this thread and the 7 year old article you posted was about the executive branch wanting to be able to run for a 3rd term

What is so hard for you to understand? The point is he has no morals and if he’s willing to do a fake electors plot he would obviously have no issue trying to extend his presidency to a third term. Why act so dense? You know this already

It’s the hypocrisy with them that drives me nuts. The democrats never say stuff like this and if they did entire right wing party would be losing their minds. If their orange god does it then it’s okay. They aren’t patriotic, they don’t care about the constitution, they solely exist for lolz and to own the libs. They’re child brained. There’s about a third or so that will never question trumps actions. They didn’t even care they he did a crypto scam. I agree. I think evangelicals are well-primed to accept shit like this, because they accept far-fetched beliefs on faith from various authority figures as a matter of practice. Other conservatives have sort of been conditioned—groomed, if you will—over a period of years to get information from very few media sources, accept those, disbelieve any other information source, and so on. At this point we live in two totally different realities.

I don't agree with anyone extending the term limits for POTUS, but you are wrong. This would not be a move to extend "his presidency" This would be a move to extend for all who serve as POTUS.

Technically it wouldn’t be for all who have served as president. It specifically excludes presidents elected to 2 consecutive terms. So unless the ghost of Grover Cleveland is trying to make a comeback as it was written it has Trump in mind specifically.

It has been less than a week into Trump's presidency and there have already been quite a few actions where the response has been don't worry it will be DOA. Don't you think by virtue of that being such a frequent excuse that that in itself is an issue? I mean at best it is a waste and at worst eventually some shortsighted, possibly unconstitutional, things will eventually get through.

And politicians seem quite emboldened now. Perhaps they see how ravenous, perhaps cult-like, Trump's base is that they can get away with a lot of stuff they normally wouldn't be able to.
