It is nowhere near as competitive and we've seen 1 or 2 skill fighters in the division for decades. I dont agree with "midget which moved up" its bit too much, but yes, it was favourable matchup for Makhachev. Primarily because Volkanovski is not KO artist, anyone explosive with KO power can catch Makhachev as Martins did. Like i will repeat myself, but Makhachev had basicaly tailored opponents. Khabib + Ali advocated for him + Dana needed some "replacement" for Khabib.
