Finished TREPANG2.

There can only be 106.

Very fun when you get in the flow of things. Soundtrack is amazing and gets you hyped up to dive in and push some shit in.

The lack of ADS is disconcerting though. I can't tell you how many grenades I have wasted because of muscle memory (grenades are binded to LT). The controls are wonky too and got me killed lots of times. Or maybe I just need to "git gud?"

The checkpoints are pretty bad and it has collectables too which is annoying in a game like this where you want to keep pushing forward. With no way to track where they are or no map that hurts the flow too. I got stuck a couple of times. These flaws are minor though and don't hurt the game more then a point.

8/10.

At Walmart, saw what looked like PS5 2D remake of Dragon Quest I & II. Was a bit shocked because I think those were originally NES and wondered what could they have beefed up for PS5. Are DQ fans gonna rebuy this for PS5?

Just replaying Dying light 2 until the next dlc drops for borderlands 4

How was BL4? It seemed to drop off the face of the Earth.
I like it. Having one big map and not a thousand load screens already makes it a winner. Like every other BL game the story is dumb but that's not why you play BL. I also like how in this one you don't have to return to every quest giver to turn in the mission. That was the ultimate time waster in previous bl games.

They added a ton of content, apparently. They're not really 2D, despite the awkward branding. It's 3D graphics, but with sprites for the characters and enemies. They started with DQ3, and that was popular enough for them to make 1 + 2 also.

ffxvi is pretty dope. got to level 36 and it's really opened up alot. i'm enjoying this shit way more than i thought i would. almost died in this kupka fight to some random bullshit i didn't expect but that's the only sweaty moment i've had thus far.

the cutscenes are still a bit heavy but i just slog through them.

I’ve been playing Darkest Dungeon over the weekend and I love-hate it.

The game in general is deep, heaps of moving parts. It’s like the board games from when we were young.

The art style is stained-glassy and seriously beautiful.

Was a major turn-based RPG cat when young and loved working with action economies and all that. Now that I’m older, nah. Hard pass. This is my first return to turn-based in over a decade probably.

I remember meth saying this title was too hard and I agree they do a great job making you want to quit. The fights that stack where you go through three groups of foe or two groups and a boss are stupidly hard. They make any kind of recovery only accessible in layers and it’s frustrating.

I’m working on learning the glossary icons and subsystems still plus need to unlock more chars.

Strongly believe this game has something special because I have a weird itch to keep going until I hear the symphony in my head.

Requiem is Friday! Yikes.

Reanimal was great. 9/10 for me. Visuals are the best of any Tarsier title. The sound design is superb and Tarsier prove they are one of the best in the business at creating atmospheric horror that doesn't rely on cheap scares or gore. I beat the game in 5.5 hours, did a second playthrough following a guide to pick up the rest of the secrets and following that it only took me 3 hours. Took me about 9 hours in total to get the platinum.

If that sounds short that's because it is. It's the definition of quality over quantity though. Game doesn't drag or waste any time. The last 30 minutes in particular goes real crazy.

Anyway, good recommendation for horror fans or those who enjoyed Little Nightmares. 39.99 is a lot for some for only a 5 hour game. If that's the case you can wait. There's also going to be 3 DLC packs each with a new story. Looking forward to those.

Space Marine 2

It's...fine. I don't really get the hype, though. It's a fairly basic action game, with an interesting mix of melee and shooter gameplay. It's basically "Gears Of War", with a bit more emphasis on combat variety. I mean, you have chainsaw sword. 'Nuff said.

The combat is the star of the show, so let's dig into that. It's basically a corridor shooter, with options. You walk forward and a bunch of enemies spawn that you dispatch of via guns and/or melee, and it does force you to use both, which is good. It's a nice balance. Ultimately though, that's all it is. It gets incredibly predictable after like a half an hour. The gore is nice and plentiful, but it's a bit of a crutch as well, since you're just going through the motions. You get your fill of blood splattering everywhere, and then it becomes a game again. On that note, not all that impressed. You melee, you shoot, you melee, you shoot, and every enemy has incredibly easy tells(that even venture outside of the screen) to "parry"(cause that's all the rage these days), and that's pretty much that.

It's fine and all, but is it deserving of all the praise? I don't think so. It starts to feel cheap and stale after a short while. Kill the enemies and hit the button to do the thing, then do it again, and again, and again. Maybe the simplicity is the draw, but I got bored of it real quick. There just isn't much going on here. Just "GRRR! YOU BIG MAN! YOU KILL THE MONSTERS!". I don't think gaming has gone so far in the other direction, that this is somehow unique. This feels like a cheap game, that was propped up by streamers for simply not being woke and gay.
I loved the first one. Bought the 2nd on launch and played maybe 3hrs. I haven't played it since. I feel it was all geared towards multi-player.

DD is a VERY difficult game as you said. I never got around to beating the game because of how brutally hard they make encounters. I see people love it though and I know there's an addicting game underneath all of the difficulty it throws your way.

My first proper return to turn based since the OG Final Fantasy titles was E33 tbh.

Speaking of, do you think we'll ever get a proper FF turn-based remake? 4 or 6 would be perfect remakes for that style

They keep rumoring 9 being remade. And several people have mentioned doing it turn based if they were involved.

I would be pretty surprised if we got a full on 7 like remake of any mainline FF and it was turn based though. Square really seems to have their heads up their asses about big budget turn based stuff.

I think the problem with that game, is that it crosses the line between "hard" and "cheap". It's got a great loop that works for the first little while, and then it gets too big with the micromanagement, and just rapes you mercilessly in the dungeons, where you start to feel like you have draw up a plan to actually beat it. I always got to a point in that game, where I just stare at the hub world and all of it's bullshit, knowing that nothing I do will help me. I'm just gonna be resting all of my all stars that manage to stay alive on a run, until they slowly get taken out, and I'm just sitting there wondering how in the fuck am I gonna beat some advanced dungeon with a bunch of scrubs?

There is a really good game in there, but it went WAY overboard in punishing the player and wasting their time.

I was on PS4 PSN Gundam Battle Operation 2 and looked like on my team the same PSN user was in there twice. Not absolutely sure if it was just similar names swapping "1" for "l". Is it even possible for same PSN user to be using two diff PS4's and exist in same game at same time? Maybe one was on PS4 and other using PS5?
