Fedor looked in pretty good shape when he smoked Crocop and Big Nog by decisions, widely regarded as the best HW's at the time. Your argument is that he could've become a weight bully at 205 to strengthen his case?

He smashed Arlovski and Sylvia, two HW UFC champions that were way bigger than him.

Fedor's only really impressive wins in Pride were Cro-Cop and Nog, who both suddenly looked washed a couple of years later in the UFC. Sylvia and Arlovkski were pretty nice wins, but they were several years past their time as UFC champs...and would've been losing to guys like JDS and Cain if they remained in the UFC.

40+-year old Coleman, LHW Randleman (17-16 career record), etc. weren't elite-level wins.

I think Noguiera would win more times than not had they fought 10x. The problem is just Mir won those the two bouts we seen of them, Mir always always dangerous as long as he’s awake and able to grab a limb.
By the way, Frank Mir was slated to never walk again, let alone fight, it’s almost a miracle he even got that far again in MMA. Diminishing Mirs wins over Noguiera by using the “out of prime” excuse is kinda bullshit, when in reality if both were at their best they’re pretty evenly matched.

Fedor's fights wildly alternated between top fighters and cans. Volk is probably more skilled than any of Fedor's opponents. Charles is like Nog but not as resilient. Fedor was 30-1 before Strikeforce (the loss was a true fluke though unlike Islam's). If Islam beats the next 3 or so opponents at a stacked WW division, the statement is going to have merit.
