First off RIP to one of the greats, mad respects to him and his career and also how he handle himself outside the movie business.

He seemed like a very honorable respectful man.

I just noticed from previous threads he was looked as the better actor in comparison to two of these other greats De Niro and Brando.

As you can see here. So he was highly respected by people on here.

As for his performance in Unforgiven. It was a masterclass indeed and so deserving for an Oscar.

he did that shit so good, I was surprised to hear him say he had reservations about playing in a violent film.

Alright I have now watched Unforgiven.

I give it 6.2/10.

Beautifully shot and they did an amazing job making the buildings and characters look the part. I enjoyed the three main guys having some serious internal struggles.

The plot was fairly basic but I don't need more than this in a Western but there were some pretty silly scenes I could've gone without.

The acting from most of the characters in the movie was stale as fuck and the dialogue stiff at best. That's why the lower score. Overall an enjoyable movie.

Surprised people has raised this movie to the rafters...

Yeah, he does the evil Sheriff thing really well. Was also great in "The Quick and The Dead".

He, Leo, and Russ are about the only redeeming things about that movie. The scene in the gun shop where Leo is going over all the different pieces is great. That film could have been superb had it been written and handled differently. Might be Sharon Stones worst performance ever. In fact having a female hero in that film just didn’t work and probably would have been tough to pull off for just about any actress/film maker


Shame because there were some solid ideas and performances in there.
