Media Blaydes: I think Aspinall knocks Jones out early in the fight

Jon has hardly ever been rocked in a fight. It's hard to picture him getting knocked out even though it's totally possible.
That's what they said about Holloway until he met the most devastating power puncher he's ever fought.

And we know Aspinall has the UFC record for shortest average fight time (2 minutes and 2 seconds).

I’m not going to say Aspinall beats Jones because I can really see it either way. But Jones did get touched a couple times by underwater Stipe. And he also did the duck and run away evasion several times. Not sure he can get away with stuff like that against Aspinall.
Yup. That's the kind of thing that'd get one knocked out vs Aspinall.

But Jones can't be counted out. He's smart and crafty and one never knows what he can pull out of his sleeve.

Just like you say Jon has never faced anyone like Tom. The reverse is true as well. Tom has never fought anyone even close to the caliber of fighter Jon is. It's a really good fight I hope it happens.

That's true. Jones presents problems that Aspinall has never faced and vice versa.

That's why this is the fight to make and why it has potential to be one of the biggest UFC fights ever, if not the biggest.

Holloway was dropped by Gaethje and Poirier (cage saved him)

That lame blitz in and out amateur shit works on heavyweights like Blaydes so he thinks it will work on the ultimate GOAT.

It doesn't work in other weight classes, ask Alex Hernandez.

Did you watch the Stipe fight? Jones left himself extremely vulnerable and even got caught a few times.

Good thing he faced slow as molasses Stipe and not Aspinall that night.

Dominick Reyes is a much better striker than Aspinall and Jon had no trouble with his striking.
Yea a younger faster, better head movement Fresh from the recent roidsauce Jones had no issue(debatable) with Reyes's striking

JBJ has taken big solid shots in the past w/o seeming too much worse for wear.
While there is a very distinct possibility due to Tom's age, speed, size, etc... I wouldn't be surprised if JBJ just hung out and kicked at Tom's previously injured knee then looked to elbow/knee Tom when the Brit closes the the distance (remember, that we've seen Tom injure himself due to distance mismanagement in the past.)

While Aspinall is definitely not Gane, I wouldn't be surprised if Jones is able to bully him to the ground, either.

That said, there are quite a few logical outcomes if this fight actually happens.

Jon is a lot smarter than people give him credit for. When he eagerly accepted the fight vs Gane, it was because he knew he'd beat him. In hindsight, that should have been the cue for everyone who bets on the sport to put big money on Jon. He's hesitant to fight Francis and Tom because he knows that there is a good chance that he'll lose.

Jones has pretty high fight IQ he would be tough to catch right away. I'm sure he would anticipate full pressure from Tom right away and use that to his advantage for an easier takedown.

One 'flaw' of Aspinall is that he can get a bit reckless at times and leave his chin open, but Jones' pillowfists will not deter Aspinall from doing what needs to be done.
If Tom gets reckless on a blitz against Jones he's getting KTFO by a standing elbow.

Jones has plenty of power, but his lankiness means that he has to focus on speed if he wants to be able to actually hit anybody at distance. Long limbs take more time to pivot, so when it comes to punches and kicks Jon throws almost all straight strikes - jabs; straight crosses; front, side, and back kicks. He throws some roundhouses using speed technique too (lifting the knee and snapping with almost no hip swing with extended leg). He doesn't throw power punches because they'd be way too slow to land at distance. He'd also prefer to clinch or grapple than to counterpunch, so hooks and uppercuts are largely missing. But get in range of the elbows recklessly and he'll clinch while landing the elbow full blast and you'll learn full well the power/speed combo Jon can present. Wrist control to elbow to clinch is one of Jon's signatures.

Jones has only two wins by TKO/KO since 2013 ... and one of them was against old man Stipe.

The chances of Aspinall getting KTFO aren't high to say the least.

He's entitled to his opinion, everybody has one. Ngannou and DC think Jones will win. Don't mean a thang!

other than the fact that most fans (and dana) that know what they're looking at think it was a robbery and jon lost that fight. Jon knows he lost too so he went and buried his head in the sand for years cause his fragile ego was shattered.
