It's a terrible time for hw I don't disagree at all. OTOH though, Tom has wins over half of the top ten. And they are decisive, dominant wins. From the perspective of being the best contender possible in this era of HW, well I don't really see what else Tom can possibly do.

He's already murdered half the top ten and many aren't impressed, so he's rightfully calling for the champ. You can't really ask him to do any more to prove he deserves it. It's not like crushing a couple more top ten hws is going to impress anyone enough to make the difference.

It may be hard to know how good Tom is historically because HW doesn't appear the strongest right now.

But he's starching everyone in like a minute.

As bad as HW may or may not be right now, he's clearly miles ahead of the rest.

Maybe it's somewhat analogous to when Lennox Lewis was ruling HW boxing. No one really knew how to rate him against the past because they said it was a bad era he was dominating.

That is a legit question for every front-runner.

Chin + guts in a real dogfight always = another.

Right now, Tom Aspinall is nothing but a hot prospect in a sea of fat, mediocre, sub-elite competition.

Anyone who tries to call him "great" (or anything close to that) is a newbie or an idiot.

Jon Jones is a fierce, elite competitor ... who may not be a KO artist, but who has "analyzed and solved" every PROBLEM in front of him ... and who is ALWAYS the man finishing strong at the end, asserting his dominance, and either finishing in the end ... or having his opponent on the run in the end.

That's what Champions DO — solve the problem in front of them, and put pressure on that ass to break them. Every time.

Aspinall may be too young, and too big — but I'm not so sure that.

In a battle of guts and heart, I would choose Jon Jones over Tom Aspinall, any and every day.
