Has Jon Jones ever faced a boxer as good as Tom Aspinall?

Really doesn't matter, TBH.

Jones' reign of terror was at 205 while he was taking 'Bulgarian Vitamins'.

He's old now. This fight is never happening. The only people interested in it are hardcore fans, and they don't create a big enough paycheck for Jones to risk his legacy.

Jon doesn't have any glaring weaknesses in his game apart from his boxing, which is why he struggles with good boxers esp those around his size; Gus, Reyes, Santos etc.

Gus and Reyes were light on their feet and had crisp punches but neither hit anywhere near as hard as Tom, nor is their footwork as good.

Which makes me wonder if Jon has much of a shot in this fight, given that he'll most likely have no success wrestling the more athletic Aspinall.
Many of them and more times than Tom has even faught..

Vitor belfort. Best boxer in UFC history . He beat evander holyfield who is an all time great boxer who beat tyson

He hasn't faced anyone like Aspinall's who can put 250 pounds behind a punch.

Reyes, Gus, Rampage, DC, Belfort and others Jones fought were good boxers. I'm not really sure who the best technical boxer is among all of them and Aspinall. I'm sure you'd get a lot of different answers here as each one has his strengths and weaknesses.

NHL playoffs are a week away. Toronto fan.

TRT Vitor was crazy, Jones is the only real guy who beat him. He was deflated for Weidman in my opinion. Glover or Gus were just as dangerous.

Jones has fought all the types of fighters. The only question now is can he do it a weight class 60lbs up and right before retirement. I personally don't think it counts even if Jones loses because the excuses were baked for Fedor, GSP, and Silva for their losses being too green or out of prime.

Has Tom Aspinall really shown amazing boxing besides power? He's athletic and pretty straightforward. More technical than Ngannou for sure, but I wouldn't consider him elite tier or something where he might do well with boxing HWs.

Jake Paul > Anderson Silva > Belfort > Holyfield > Tyson
Then Tyson> Holmes > Ali > Liston/Foreman/Patterson/Norton/Frazier.

That settles it- Jake Paul is the boxing GOAT.

Mabye Buster Douglas > Tyson but I won't quibble too much.

Jon Jones has faced the best of the best. I don't mean to sound like a nuthugger, but in all honesty there's nothing he hasn't seen or been up against already.

nope, Jones only fought fighters he knew he could beat after he got busted for roids. He knew he couldn’t beat DC naturally.

After eye poking him 5 times in 3 minutes, sure

Otherwise DC got his ass whooped twice by Stipe
wich great mma fighter did aspinal outbox?
i remember carwin knocking anyone you put in front of him
but gets exposed after fighting championship figjters
atleast dc ko'd stipe whos maybe on par with jds in boxing

I'd probably go rampage in his prime, back when he was training with juanito pre meltdown.

Although his boxing wasn't near as good when he fought Jones.

Realistically, Jones fought a lot of guys that had KO power if they land clean, very few actually managed to hit him full force though. Only one on that list who did consistently was DC.

Aspinall is fast, but this idea that he has some mystical boxing ability and technique that we haven't seen before is definitely quite hyperbolic.

The caveat is Jon's age and slowed reflexes I guess, could be argued that he's more vulnerable against such attributes than he has been in the past.

He has faced plenty of great boxers/overall strikers yes. None of them were 6'5 250+lb HWs though. He also wasnt pushing 40 and visibly slowing at the time.
There's a much higher wrestling level at 205 though, which is the other side of the size discussion.

Tom's wrestling has never been tested, he hasn't been past the first round and he's admitted DC would be a nightmare matchup for him.

He's a big boy, but that doesn't really matter much if he can't defend the takedowns, strike with the threat of the takedown at play or if his gas tank doesn't last going into deeper waters.

A lot of factors to consider for people to be too confident on either side.
