Has Jon Jones ever faced a boxer as good as Tom Aspinall?

Gus pieced him up pretty well. Gus' base is in boxing, and it showed in that fight.

I still say that fight was a coinflip as a 'decision'. It could've gone either way.

On the topic, I don't think Jones survives Aspinall. He's stalling for money; essentially putting a price on his '0'.

I also don't think the fight materializes. Jones will likely retire with his perfect record.

Jon doesn't have any glaring weaknesses in his game apart from his boxing, which is why he struggles with good boxers esp those around his size; Gus, Reyes, Santos etc.

Gus and Reyes were light on their feet and had crisp punches but neither hit anywhere near as hard as Tom, nor is their footwork as good.

Which makes me wonder if Jon has much of a shot in this fight, given that he'll most likely have no success wrestling the more athletic Aspinall.

Well Jones battered and choked out Gus in under two rounds, beating him twice (11 knockouts)

Jones stood with a Santos; a kickboxer (15 knockouts) and sadly ended his career.

Traditional boxing is so much different than MMA boxing, I cant confidently say whos a" better" boxer.

Guys like Rampage call themselves boxers, with decent lateral and head movement and considerably more knockouts that Tom.

Infact Rampage has 20 KO's which is more fights than Tom has total.

Jon has no distinct style. When you think of all the great fighters, you can picture how they walk, their signature moves etc. Jon has nothing because his career is built on cheating. Eye pokes and oblique kicks are literally all that comes to mind, the rest was gimmicky shit
So youre jealous

But anyway

Yeah vitor is a better boxer than Tom and bones broke him

He's faught better strikers yes

Possibly Machida, but the size difference is massive. Jon has certainly never fought anyone of Tom's quality with his physicality and speed.
DC is very good, but he's also shorter than Diego Lopes.
When Rico Verhoeven says Aspinall could compete in kickboxing at the elite level with only minor adjustments, you have to take him seriously.
