International Trump forced Israel to negotiate with Hamas

Yes, and it didn't. Trump had to come along. giving credit is normal. you would have if this was Biden or Kamala. It's only reasonable to give it to Trump in this case as well.

He was nominated 9 months ago. nothing he did after that counted for the nobel prize evaluations.

America supposedly holds all the cards against israel since forever. nobody seems to be doing anything though. This is absolutely not a trump issue.
Even some dems are giving Trump credit. I appreciate that.

Chuck Schumer
"Today is a wonderful day. Finally, finally, finally, the last living hostages brutally held by Hamas are home, an immense and overwhelming sigh of relief." "I commend the enormous advocacy of the tireless hostage families, President Trump, his administration, and all who helped make this moment happen."

Bill Clinton
"President Trump and his administration, Qatar, and other regional actors deserve great credit for keeping everyone engaged until the agreement was reached,"

Hillary Clinton
"I really commend President Trump and his administration, as well as Arab leaders in the region for making the commitment to the 20-point plan and seeing a path forward for what’s often called the day after."

Kamala Harris
"I commend the people who have been a part of this process. I commend the Qataris, the Egyptians and the President."

I don’t think this had anything to do with any US politician. Israel clearly does whatever the fuck it wants with the backing of the United States of Israel. The fact that some Dems like Hillary commended Trump speaks more to their relief that Gaza is finally flattened and Israel can annex it all now more than anything else.

I say this because we could have told Israel to cease fire a year ago…but we didn’t.

I mean it seems pretty clear that these negotiations have been going on for years and predate Trump's 2nd term. Not that he deserves no credit, but he doesn't deserve all of it. I think Bill Clinton put it best, he deserves credit for keeping all the parties engaged.

It's also pretty clear that Bibi favors the Republicans and deliberately was difficult with Biden to help Trump win. IIRC, he intentionally delayed negotiations near the end of Biden's term to hand Trump a win when he took office, similar to the Reagan-Carter situation.

I think ultimately whoever was in office this period of time would have seen a ceasefire and potential end to the active combat over Oct. 7th, whether it was Trump or Harris.

Its crazy how angry leftists get about Israel not allowing terrorists to take the piss and act like savage scum.

Ultimate FAFO from Hamas the past 2 years. Hopefully whoever assumes control of Gaza/the Palestinian people moving forward is less kamikaze and nihilist and realises there are consequences to rape, beheadings and general stone age behaviour

Yea as someone on the left, I don't understand this at all. It's just rampant, naive idealism.

"We don't negotiate with terrorists."

When did that change? When you reward Hamas for taking + holding hostages, you only invite more bad behaviour in the future.

Gaza has been wiped off the map. And you’ve gotta have your head in the sand super deep to not believe that the Neo Con Bibi crowd didn’t know that the attack by Hamas was going to occur before it did, which was as you noted, something on the level of a Stone Age level of sophistication.

Bibi and his psychotic ilk knew Israelis would die and knew it was the perfect pretense to do what they’ve been planning to do for decades…flatten Gaza, annex it, move Jews in.

According to reports he was pressured by trump while the arab countries particularly Qatar pressured Hamas. But tbh, in the beginning he wouldn't have listened to anyone. Oct 7 was too grave and he wanted to set a statement so that it wouldn't happen again anytime soon. Someone in here mentioned that he kind of sabatoged the first ceasefire and maybe so...I also think he needed to have lots of Hamas killed for that statement. I still find it hard to believe that he will allow any Hamas members to walk away after this and hard to believe Hamas will walk away... Not sure how that turns out.

They would not normally give him praise especially with the midterms ahead.... I havent seen a president strong arm Israel. We could have settled a lot of things with the leverage we have.

Well there was a guy named Jeffrey Epstein who was part of a blackmail operation for manipulating US politicians and other powerful figures in society.

So does that mean all these peeps including Kamala are being blackmailed?

My guess is they all know someone who is being blackmailed, and someone like Kamala definitely has people she relies on to prop her up who are part of the Epstein issue. And the people we know of that are likely to have been blackmailed, never mind the ones we don’t know of, are at the top of the power structure. Kamala is underneath the power structure held up by people who guide her and support her. Whether she knows about the blackmail or not is not directly related to whether she is affected by it.

That would be a big conspiracy bruh... and such a one that they were told to give Trump props or else? Sounds a bit out there brotha

When has the US not negotiated with terrorists? It's naive to pretend you can do business in the world without that. You work with the best dance partner you have, and sometimes those are terrible people.

It's a good standard not to negotiate with terrorists, but it's also impossible to avoid sometimes. I think the pure devastation of this war and the toll it took on both sides was enough to start talking. Although, I don't think it's right that Israel gets back 20 hostages and Palestine gets back thousands of Arab prisoners, I still don't think Hamas (or what's left of it) would look at this as any kind of success. Even those terrorists they got back don't outweigh the destruction dropped on their whole organization and it's leaders.

You either didn’t read what I wrote properly or you are naive. It would be a very small “conspiracy” with a top down process of impact manifesting in a wide reach.
