Rumored Tom Aspinall vs Alex Pereira for UFC 300 main event? *MERGED*

Would this fight be worthy to headline UFC 300?

An interim championship can NOT be 300s main event, even if heavyweight. They're not stars either.

HW division is pretty weak currently. Some people don't want to see Gane in a 3rd title fight and don't think he's earned it. Jones refuses to fight Aspinall so why not let Pereira (also a LHW moving up to HW) show him how it's done.
Is Alex about to show Jon Jones that you don't need steroids and +3 years to prepare for HW? Respect.

Jon is injured until July. That's why he's not fighting in April.

Hope you get over your Jones Derangement Syndrome.

Alex Pereira is s an absolute huge MW and a big LHW but at HW Tommy Aspinall will decapitate him on the ground within a round. That being said, I would watch and root for the future Triple Champ! lol

cool fight, but not one i was really thinking about, and not really fitting of headlining an event like this.

It can and it will, buddeh.

Poatan bless.

This has got to be the most random fight ever in UFC. It seems like a fight you would only see on the UFC video game on PS5.

They might as well announce Derrick Lewis vs Clay Guida for UFC 300 next.

Really bizarre and random fight

He wouldn't fight Pavlovich and he won't fight Aspinall. He's stated this publicly many times. He wouldn't fight Ngannou because he "needed time to bulk up".

That’s an absurd matchup, and Aspinall ought to be heavily favored. Alex is a fantastic striker but he’s getting mauled if it hits the floor. The only thing that makes this semi-interesting is that Aspinall won’t enjoy a speed advantage on the feet and he’s used to having a pronounced one in his other fights. Regardless, I don’t think Alex has trained long enough to overcome the ground discrepancy here. Aspinall is legit on the ground.

the fat matchmaker kid is to blame for 300

Until this comes from a meaningful source, this is just more rumor mill nonsense. Nothing to see here, folks.

Ugh…holding up two divisions to pander to the idiot market again. The UFC has a knack of creating goalposts to further promotion.

there is not one fight that could have been announced that everyone would have liked. statistically impossible. with that said, the trend continues, double champ super fights are all modern UFC has anymore as a selling point, minus any real super stars. i'm not mad. i enjoy this match up. what would have made UFC 300, feel 300, would have been a return of Brock, Connor, GSP, Khabib all on the same card. Those days are over now. Enjoy champ champ fights from here to eternity.

UFC 300 feels like a Lego set with missing pieces.
Haha. That's a great description.

Honestly 300 is just the April PPV to me just like 200 was nothing more than that years July PPV.

300 will be loaded top to bottom with fun fights and so I'm quite happy. But your description is very funny.
