Why is a LHW champ with 0 defenses fighting a HW champ with 0 defenses?

HW division is pretty weak currently. Some people don't want to see Gane in a 3rd title fight and don't think he's earned it. Jones refuses to fight Aspinall so why not let Pereira (also a LHW moving up to HW) show him how it's done.
