So far MVP has...

Age has a ton to do with it, particularly in conjunction with mileage. And physical attributes play a huge part. "Skill", i.e., your knowledge doesn't decline, but your ability to implement those skills in a timely or as powerful/fast a fashion absolutely does. Not sure which Pride specifics you're referring to, but most of the the Pride guys had already had long, successful careers by the time they came to the UFC . . . so obviously most of them were closer to the end of their reigns at the top than from starting them.
That’s why fighters learn, evolve and adapt given some of their decline in physical attributes.

Every single PrideFC who came over were not out of their prime, maybe a few like Wanderlei & Gomi..

Shogun Rua was 27yrs old and his career was just getting started, but one loss to Forrest suddenly he’s out of his prime

CroCop who was coming off his best run and looked like a killer 6 months prior comes to the UFC and suddenly he’s out of his prime.

Its ducking coping mechanism always was.

Shogun Rua looked the best his entire career during the Machida bouts

Fighters nowadays are slowly obliterating that notion of age being out of their primes talk. Randy Coutures, Anderson Silva set a scale for it, Pereira, Cormiers, Jon Jones, the Merab, Makhachevs. Hell even Jose Aldo is not getting wrecked like the Fedors and CroCops in a weight class where age is a detriment.

I don’t believe in that out of prime shit one bit, never did. I always sided with the better fighter won that night, something that is missing with fans of fighters today when they lose.

No, I meant you described it as "outclassed" but to me it seemed more like an "eek'd out a decision" type of victory for MVP.

Every single big moment was MVP. The booth was reading the stats at the start of round 2 and Shara had not landed a single head strike yet. I can't think of anyway to describe that OTHER than getting out classed. It was one way traffic and SB was whiffing air and completely befuddled.

Yea maybe it's my interpretation of the word "outclassed" it sounds significantly more impressive than what I saw MVP do today.

Outclassed reminds me of when Khabib dominates for 5 rounds or GSP 50-45's someone or Anderson matrix fighting and defeating foes.

Outclassed just sounds more impressive to me than what I saw MVP do today. I wasn't really that impressed by either of their performances.

I feel like Shara didn't do much of anything and that's why MVP coasted to a W. He was runnning around for most of the fight.

Suffice to say, the fight we saw tonight with MVP is such a rare occurrence I can see why its hard to relate to more typical lopsided fights.

MVP tagged Shara each round with flashy stuff and even dominated the clinch game throughout. For his part, Shara - who is a principle striker - was whiffing and looking like he didn't belong in there. It was certainly lopsided and fun.

A pity he wasn't in the UFC sooner but it's always a treat watching him fight. I think the UFC should just give him fun stylistic fights at this point in his career.
Yup, wish he was still in his prime. Funny that he's older than Izzy.

He was touted as one, no? And he's good.
I don't think he's as good as his fans thought he was but guy definitely had skills and MVP showed him there are levels.

Touted by the UFC broadcast team maybe.

In reality, Shara has only looked good against other bum strikers. That Trocoli guy was shit and he was lighting him up in r1 before he gassed being there on short notice.

Typical dumb shit on shertard, ya Fedor being 10 plus years into career starting in SF and having a previous Sambo career no he wasn't past it or Cro-Cop who was 2 years older than Fedor and had an entire K1 career along with being a top HW in Pride and suffering devastating KO during that time, Shogun after winning the LHW Grand Prix beating Rampage, Lil Nog, Overeem, Arona and others was at a point where he was definitely due for a loss.

Forest, Rashad, Jones, Gus, Jardine, Bonner, Bisping, Bader etc, all never had even close to the mileage of the Pride LHW's of the 2000's and weren't fighting any near the competition during that time they were in regionals like KOTC, so the Pride crop of LHW's are expected to still be in their primes compared to those guys I mentioned that's complete selective bias.

For instance all the UFC tards at the time were calling for Fedor to fight Lesnar while Fedor had something like 30 fights by then while Lesnar had like 4 max, or what about Cain who all the noobs were screaming Fedor needed to fight to prove he's legit, in that very same time period 2007 Cain had 2 fukking fights but according to all the experts in America Fedor has to after having a 10 plus year career sign with UFC and beat all the up and coming fighters like the ones just mentioned that's some ridiculous logic there. Time has shown that Fedor was greater than even those guys of that era in HW Cain ended his career 14-3 didn't even reach 20 fights for crying out loud and got tko'd by Ngannou in 2019, in 2019 and onwards Fedor was KO'ing Rampage and Tim Johnson
and having had 47 fights and a Sambo career, this all speaks for itself. Lesnar got pinched for PED's and retired 5-3 I think it's pretty easy to see who is the greater fighter who fought way past their prime years after but is somehow expected to transcend eras and face the next crop of guys or else he's a can ridiculous standards that only apply to him and other Pride vets.

I’ll get you the effort for the time it took you to type this out. But you lost me with yiur first 5 words. So go cry in corner somewhere you British cigarette.

…Not progressed in His division

What impresses me about MVP is he hasn't lost any speed or agility, he is still so fast and agile despite being older and having a lot of fight mileage. Its crazy how fast his reactions are, Shara certainly had big problems with the speed difference, so did Holland and Garry, MVP is crazy fast.

I DGAF LOL and where am I wrong please elaborate, there's so much modern dumb shit on here that just doesn't add up or based on facts at all.

Let him fight a grappler.. He is so protected

MVP is boring as shit.

Let him fight Khamzat at 185 if he thinks he can play or give him belal and both these guys will rag doll him.

Instead we got to watch MVP bouncing for 15 minutes.

It's Bellator's fault he got the can crusher label. Could have been a superstar for them if they promoted him in big fights
