Elections Ron DeSantis drops out of Republican presidential race: how do you grade his campaign?

Turning Trump into a martyr, by the over prosecution/charges made it difficult for anyone to run against him. Reap what you sow , the whirl wind will be here next year, reap it!

What makes you say that he's been overprosecuted? And do you think it's coordinated? I think generally, a healthy party votes for someone they think will do good things in office.

There's really no difference between him and anyone else who dared to run against Trump. His popularity on a national level, isn't all that measurable in a Trump free field. He just ran into a wall called Trump, like the rest of them. There wasn't anything specific that sunk him, other than people wanting Trump. It would be the same result if high profile Democrats, tried to primary Biden. They'd get bodied all the same. The people want their geriatric rematch, and the people are gonna get it.

There's nothing special about him either.

He had about a year of good PR from being anti-lockdown, fighting with Disney and other corporations and trying to rewrite public school curriculums, but most of that faded.

Disney's much more competent legal team ran circles around the state in court, so they had to back down from that nonsense.

The incessant railing against wokeness started to poll poorly with focus groups, so he had to dial that back too.

Take away his key issues, and he's just an annoying short dude with no charisma.

Also, Florida ain't a great place to live right now. It's getting increasingly expensive, and it's becoming impossible to insure homes in parts of the state. If the exodus of residents out of the state continues for the next few years, what would he even have to run on in 2028?

Ron is a world-historic loser. He should be the subject of a 24 hour documentary just to fully put it into perspective. Here's hoping he's pelted with rotten fruit for the rest of his life

In Florida all you have to do to be an above average politician is not be corrupt but at the national level standards are higher.

who would have ever thought that raping a helpless woman inside of a department store, defrauding banks just to get loans you wouldn't otherwise be entitled to, stealing classified documents and hiding them next to your shitter and then lying to the courts about having them, cheating on your wife with a whore from the gangbang videos and then paying her off with your campaign funds, trying to defraud your country and its election systems, and inciting your insurrection aimed to keep you in office after you lost your election would be grounds to become a martyr to the republican party and garner their full on support?

didn't these people call themselves the party of law and order, the party of christian and family values, and the party of personal accountability? what a bunch of jokers.

donald trump got 1 and a half percent of votes from all of the iowa voters and the rest of the candidates are dropping out like flies lol.

I don't know how you rate it. I think his actual policies resonate with the Republican base. He has a terrible personality though and he ran against Trump who has cult like devotees. Desantis is boring and has a punchable face. He had no chance.

The reason Disney has legally run circles around him, is Ron has a bad habit of funneling tax dollars to big donors or his buddies.
The law firm Ron pays with Florida tax dollars to get their ass handed to them in court on the regular, Ron's old roommate is a lawyer at the firm.
Ron took 3.9 million from Big Insurance, passed a law home owners can not sue their insurance, and then insurance companies jacked up the rates.
Ron approved multiple power rate hikes, then the CEO of Duke Energy gave herself a 13.1% raise. I am sure she kicked some money Ron's way since he got taxpayers to pay for her 16.5 million dollar a year raise.
Ron replaced the Reedy Creek and New College boards and stuffed them with Donors or family of Donors and then immediately gave them all raises over the prior boards pay.
Boss Tweed is looking up from his grave and going damn, I like this DeSantis guys hustle.

This video really explains why trump still rules the republican party. No matter how bad and cringy desantis was. He was never this dumb, petty and immature.

No one expected him to get the nomination. He ran as Trump-lite when no one wants Trump-lite. You either like Trump and you want the real deal. Or you don't like Trump and you don't want any version of him. Vivek had the same issue.

At least Nimrata is being true to herself...sorry, I meant Nikki. Nikki is being true to herself and her husband Bill.

Shit, I mean, at least Nikki is being true to herself and her husband Michael. ;)

BTW -- like him or not, that's why Trump keeps winning. He is unabashedly himself. He's not trying to be a politically safe version of someone else, not even a politically safe version of himself.

He really has a stiff, meek speaking ability/personality.
Yeah nobody's perfect though. I mean, he's a much better speaker than Biden and Trump. George W wasn't really a good speaker either. You basically have Obama, Clinton, and Reagan as the only presidents that were actually good speakers in the last 50 years. And Clinton's barely in that group.

I rather have DeSantis than Trump but here we are a rematch of 2020 of two bad candidates Biden and Trump
Exactly. It's absolutely insane that neither party could come up with anyone better.

Just goes to show that name recognition is everything.

Of what? Of Desantis dropping out, whether it helps or hurts Trump, or "republicans won't vote for someone named Nimrata?

South Carolina isn't exactly a purple state, and they already vote for her to be their governor before she got rich joining the board of Boeing and turned into John Bolton, declaring war on everyone and saying your employer should be able to look up your political opinions, and that Hillary Clinton is an inspiration.

Desantis would have been a better president than anyone else running, but he's a terrible salesman. As far whether it helps Trump or Bird Brain, it doesn't really matter because Trump would still be ahead even if everyone moved from Desantis to Bird Brain, but he was already running as Trump without the baggage, and now endorsed Trump, so that should clear up whether all of his support will now shift over to Nikki Haley.

That's because Nimarata runs for political office as her alter ego Nikki -- a white woman with deep Southern roots. And being that she ran for governor during the pre-Trump era, none of her Republican rivals were willing to point that out for fear of the political backlash. But we live in the Trump era now. That's all on the table.

If she ever polls above 40% then Trump will never say the name Nikki again. If she sniffs 50% then he posts this picture to Truth social:

If she cracks 50 then the gloves come off. Full birtherism 2.0 (or is it 3.0 after Cuban-Canadian Ted Cruz?) And did you know her father taught at a black college? "People are saying he taught CRT." So many possibilities.

lol... Ron turned purple Florida into a solid red state. You're a fucking clown who hasn't been paying attention.

He won Florida by 20% in 2022.

Ron started strong as a Presidential candidate, but faded fast like a pop bottle rocket.

bullshit. mango mussolini has got Nimarata Pocahontas Haley's real birth certificate and he's gonna be releasing it alongside of his health care plan and evidence of 2020 election fraud. should be in about two weeks.

Honestly, I think Trump might win the presidency.

I suggested this on this forum a while ago. Can't remember who but they said he had no chance, I pointed out that he's favourite on our betting market, the response was it's biased because it's probably a right wing app ha ha

He very well may win again.
Its a shame and gross that someone with this much shit on him will be a president.
