I think it's worth noting that there might be a possibility she genuinely confided in James, she felt vulnerable and had no idea what to do and James was happy to offer her a shoulder to cry on and maybe that came across on CCTV as intimacy, closeness etc and the reason why he brought her back to the hotel was possibly because she was scared and didn't know what to do or where to go and he was trying to figure things out himself. He brings her back to listen to what she has to say etc and eventually he decides fuck this, I want no part in this and leaves and gets her a taxi etc
He wanted no part in this until Conor brought his name into it. And he's too fearful of going against Conor plus feels obliged to help because not only is Conor a friend, but he wants to keep it that way. Doesn't want to be enemies with Conor and he stands to gain from helping Conor.
Proving things ain't easy but to my mind, it's obvious both men are lying and know more than they are saying. It's not like it's unusual for a rapist to deny it and claim its consensual.

So, that CCTV they're saying contradicts the state she 'should be in'... I think actually what you're saying is likely true @ she confided in James, in the room, he comforted her, then that's why she's like, vying for safety and affection from him after such an ordeal; which, Conor's scumbag defense tried to portray as her basically being a lying slut flirting etc. but I bet it was that. She was probably after a state of shock and seeking comfort. And he was a nice guy comforting her.
And then Conor threw his name into it, after seeing the bruises n shit.. that's so fkn shifty. To force him into it, and shift blame, what a scumbag thing to do to a friend too. Yep. I believe this is 100% the truth, makes total sense of why James is saying he had sex with her n she's saying no.
His DNA would be in/on her plain and simple, and it wasn't.

I thought he looked embarrassed and ashamed like when this first came up and even in some pics recently, but, probably as he thought he was caught...
