Khamzat is a monster but weight classes exist (...) vs Pereira

What makes this fight compelling imo is you have two killers who everyone believes can beat each other.

Poatan v borz for BMF. They should just treat the bmf lifr the sword of gryffindor... When worthy bmf's appear so does the title... Fuck it why not

Weight doesn't count that much in grappling so what does that even have to do? I easily take down and control dudes (experienced grapplers) who got 40 pounds on me
Yes, I'm sure weight, mass, and strength have nothing to do with grappling.

The Heavies get more embarrassing by the day...

I like Pereira and Khamzat, both are killers. I'm just defending Khamzat from people who pretend he's like Conor who only lasts one round. Fighters can't just Homer Simpson the first round and tee off on Khamzat the next 4. Usman fight he fractured an arm or something, his cardio is fine.
His cardio is not that good. Every time he has gone 3, he looks winded and tired at the end of the fight. There is 100% an issue with his cardio, but no, he isn't some fat slob HW that lasts two minutes. Khamzat has about 10 minutes of good cardio, but when he reaches the third round, he slows down noticeably. This is simple observable fact.

It's more energy management than just pure cardio. He goes so full bore early in fights, almost NOBODY could go 10 minutes like that and not be tired AF.
The question is: would he be the boogeyman he is if he didn't come out like he does and take guys down and try to finish immediately? (And most of the time succeed). He could pick his spots, not fight like a bezerker, and likely look fresh deeper into fights. But that's not him, and he likely wouldn't be as good as he is.

Usman is one of the best wrestlers in UFC history
Gilbert is a BJJ world champ

Poatan wastes him in under a minute.

This isn't a training room. Alex is 230 lbs, 6'4", huge reach. World class striker. Khamzat isn't surviving one left hand from Alex.

Yet, we can only dream.

Uh-huh. How much do you weigh? You anywhere near NorCal?

Careful, apparently he's such a dangerous grappler that 3 entire weight classes don't stop him from decimating people at his McDojo <lol>

I think one thing people forget about Khamzat is just how fast he is, especially at covering ground for a takedown. I feel like he would easily take Alex down for the TKO or submission, or maybe he gets caught coming in like Masvidal vs Askren.

They're both arguably the biggest current ppv stars. Why would the ufc ruin their hype and make one of them lose. Makes zero sense. Will never happen.

This is the problem with combat sports these days, trying to protect a fighters record or '0' instead of making the best fight the best.

Why give Kadyrow what he wants? Khamzat is a dictator trivializing Gamma...

I’ll repeat - anyone who thinks this is legit is foolish.

Further - anyone who thinks Pereira has a chance needs their head checked.
there isn't a man alive on this planet with whom poatan has no chance in an MMA fight.

the dude's left hook could move a tank.

you also bench teh 375 and fuck 10s. Where are the clandestine fights ala bloodsport you are part of?

Bro, I'm dying. I just imagine Kramer and the kids at his karate class. I always see idiots like this. Dude taking advantage of 40 year old fat white belts trying to learn an art or just completely fabricated altogether. I'm a 200 lb "experienced grappler" and routinely train with the 210-230 experienced grapplers. Nobody at 170-180 short of fuckin GSP is "holding down and controlling" those guys and they're just juco dudes.

This is what disgusts me, people disrespecting the most powerful single punch since the H-Bomb, thrown by the best striker 205 has ever seen, and possibly the most credentialed striker to ever step foot in MMA outside of Semmy Schilt and Mirko Cro Cop.

Not wrong in general. Both my MMA fights (forever ago, I'm old AF) were at 205 but more than a couple of times in grappling tourneys I had to compete at HW due to low turnout and not enough guys my actual size. And yeah, there's a big fucking difference trying to manipulate and move more weight. Anyone who says otherwise is full of shit.

That said, like you mentioned GSP---Khamzat looks like that generational type grappling talent. A guy who can absolutely walk into the cage at 203 on fight night vs a guy who walks in at 228 and still ragdoll him and show off absolutely dominant grappling skills. Especially with an opponent who's a kickboxer and simply doesn't have the time put in to be close to knowing how to counter that grappling.
