How this change anything??? Dude even declined fight vs Rockhold, like come on... He is worldclass fighter but dude is A class clown for his behavior. He would have achiev so much more if he stayed fully loyal to AllStars and Gustafsson...but dirty money and fake hype is more to him than loyality..

BTW Thank you for correcting me with Leon. U were right, Leon pulled from first scheduled fight, Chimaev pulled from next two...
I'm not sure when he declined the Rockhold fight, possibly before Burns?

Makes sense, since he was focusing on WW, even though he likely could have whooped Luke easily enough.
Also not sure if it was officially offered, or if it was just something Luke said on Twitter.

Actually his team at All stars seemed to be partly to blame for his weight miss and overtraining, which led to illness and pullouts.
His coach said he knew Khamzat was a few pounds heavier than usual, and that they were offered the fight on 5 weeks or so notice, and "didn't want the camp to only be about making weight".

When he did a lot of his last camp with the Russian Olympic wrestling team, he had no issues with illness or weight, and spoke about taking recovery more serious than before.

I never said predatory. Those are your words. I'm just saying it's one of those things that can ruin lives and most people lose money long term anyway. I don't think I'm better than other people, so why would I start playing? Doesn't mean others don't have the right to do so if they want. Freedom of choice and I decide to not bet lol. Is that so hard to understand?

I still am extremely confident DDP will win.

Okay...fair enough. A lot of things "can ruin lives" but I understand a bit better your view.

I'm still gonna say that while you may have some confidence in DDP, you're being ridiculous saying things like "Chimaev has no chance" or it's only a .00001% chance. That's just silliness.

Come on now. I get your a big fan of his, but you have to try and be a little objective. Missing weight is just as bad if not worse than pulling out. He completely fucked up that card.
He missed weight, sure, that's bad.

But he was obviously down to less than 178.5 during the cut.

And he ended up fighting someone who weighed in heavier than him (Holland).

I think what was really stupid of him and lost him a lot of fans was smiling and flipping the crowd off during the weigh-in after missing weight.

I think that's a pretty big reason as to why he's so disliked here.

“Khamzat turned down the fight with me,” Rockhold said. “When I was supposed to come back, my first fight back before Paulo Costa. They tried to book that fight and he didn’t really want to.”

Rockhold then confirmed whether or not he agreed to the bout.

“Yeah, I said yes,” Rockhold said. “That the first back in the day right before Paulo Costa.”

Khamzat have everything thanks to AllStars, Gustafsson was even hyping him up for media before Khamzat was even known... as "biggest hope of Swedish mma". Khamzats troubles with health started after he start travelling to Chechnya and Russia... Nowdays he dont even represent Sweden or even Chechnya .... mr.Chimaev represents UAE :D

Also camp with Russian wrestling team? that wrestling team which is not allowed to Olympics because of state doping system...? cool to know :D

He was hyped up and had a reputation due to how good he was.
He was Gustafssons main sparring partner even while being two-three weightclasses below him.

It was pretty cool that they let him live in the gym at AllStars, but it's also a fact that he overtrained like an idiot, even while sick, which led to the covid-complications.

I don't care if he represents Russia, Sweden, Norway, USA, or China.

I don't care about his religion either.

I don't care that he missed weight vs Diaz, definitely not holding a personal grudge about it years later.

I just call it as I see it in regards to his skills and fights and I enjoy watching him fight since he's one of the most talented fighters I've seen since I started to watch MMA.

Chimaev only pulled out twice in his UFC career.. that list is bullshxt listing the nate fight twice lmao
Nah the Nate Diaz fight counts as a pullout. He'd have been off the card if Dana didn't bend over backwards to find him a last-minute catchweight fight.

Missing weight is not a pull out and plus the card became better in favor of the UFC

if he makes it to the cage and the round starts, i will believe its happening.
its a great fight on paper, just hope it makes it to fruition
I'm legit too scared to be here if he pulls a Maycee Barber by starting the walkout and then turning around so he can have a "seizure".

I have a feeling Borailho will take the place of Khamzat....also a lot of rumors from russia and europe says that Khamzat might retire after this fight, win or lose.
Having Borailho publicly announced as the backup is a dead giveaway to me that Khamzat's pulling out like a 16-year old who forgot his condom. I don't remember any backup fighter being announced like this in advance of a fight before. UFC clearly prepping everybody for it.

Thats a lie. I literally made first thread here about Khamzat like 6 month before he was signed. Marked it as "best ww outside of UFC" ...got laughed on by most of people because official #1 was Soldič. 90% of mma community had no idea who he was. Gustafsson was hyping him up before anyone even knew his name...

AllStars literally gave him asylum, let him train with best, as soon as he succeeded he basically bertrayed Sweden for Kadyrov money, then he low key bertrayed even them and represents two country at once now(UAE and Russia)... Its worse case than Izzy and china flag...

His reputation spread due to Gustafsson and other fighters who trained with him and also because of his performances.

I was tipped off by a casual mma-fan who told me that I should watch Khamzat's debut, since he's undefeated and very talented.
He was already quite a big favorite in his earlier fights.

I remember Anthony Smith talking early on about how he had heard rumors of Khamzat ragdolling much bigger fighters in the gym.

Maybe sherdog isn't the only measuring stick for how good someone is, 2/3ds of sherdog was convinced he would lose to Rob, and a majority clearly can't forgive him for getting sick with covid or missing weight once.

Again, I don't care if he reps Russia or even North Korea, it's very much irrelevant.

If AllStars didnt take Khamzat under their wnigs, no one would ever heard about him...

Khamzat is 50/50 to make any walk. In the US. Likely less than. I am hopeful but won't even let myself get excited till day of.

Look what we got to look forward to if Khamzat becomes champ. Great times......... "maybe 1 fight a year" ............. .maybe

If Khamzat becomes champ we'll have an interim champ before we have a title defense that's for sure.

Rockhold would have died lol

I gotta believe that Borz has dialed back his immortal "train till it hurts" mentality & is now training smarter so that he can reach teh epitome of teh sport by grabbing a UFC belt.

I think he'z probably razor focused on "making teh fight", now as much as he is on "winning teh fight."

Can't trust any of these because of how UFC operates. They routinely offer fights to one party and they even sometimes send out bout agreements without the other party knowing. I guess so they can have things ready to go if that is the fight that will come to fruition for example.
