War Wagon DDP is simply too strong to be overpowered by Khamzat

Think they are fairly close in size n strength. Khamzat shown good quickness and DDP durability. If DDP can drain Khamzat and not get caught to bad first round or two think DDP endurance will favor him. Expect both to have moments and quite a battle.

They said Khamzat wouldn't be able to take him down or sub him, and wouldn't be able to handle Bobby's knuckles. Then look what happened. It feels like we're going through the same thing all over again with this fight.
What did they say before the Burns and Usman fights?

I'm not saying TS is wrong here, but I so love threads like this that open with "X is simply too good for Y to happen..." because they almost ALWAYS blow up in the posters face.

i remember a time when "Gane is  simply too polished of a striker and his footwork is simply too good for Jon..." and so many others lol.

Next step - fighter that was simply too good loses, TS backpedals "he was never really proven to be that good anyway..."

What did they say before the Burns and Usman fights?
Now this is just pure delusion lol. How is Burns a worse matchup for Chimaev than Usman? Usman has better wrestling, better striking, more power, longer reach and better cardio than Burns. There couldn't be a worse matchup for Chimaev than Usman.

I’m one person. What was the general consensus before those fights? Also, out of prime, broken knees, 10 days notice Usman nearly beat in a 3 round fight…. That’s the whole point lol, we’ve seen Chimaev struggle against smaller less skilled guys than DDP, but some people are acting like he has run through everyone he has faced. It’s pure delusion.

It seems much more likely that Chimaev vs DPP will look closer to his other toughest tests than a repeat of a freak injury.

What did they say before the Burns and Usman fights?
From what I recall, that Usman's wrestling was too good, and Burns' stocky frame, ground game, and experience would be a massive problem.

Burns was probably the most accurate. But Khamzat still got it done.

This ain’t powerlifting, unc. UFC 1 taught us that technique beats skill. Khamzat is a much better wrestler, and that’s how he will win the fight.

Looking at his fights he seems to drop or hurt people with seemingly normal punches. Maybe they're not "normal" in style but they're by far the most common type of punch he throws, as if he doesn't do fast light punches or power punches. This sort of power likely deters good strikers to brazenly engage with him. It's only a addition to other deterrence that is his sheer physicality that makes you exhausted even if you're successful in wrestling.

I think he's already considered a really powerful puncher

He one shot KO'd Giles and Perez, vicious Gnp vs Brunson and rocked Whittaker badly with a jab

It's also a little bit because of him being able to land stuff where it looks like he wouldn't.
If you know what I mean, like if he's unbalanced for the moment and punches just to keep you off - then BAM!

Khamzat is sure as fuck not a natural WW. 20 years ago dude wouldnt have looked out of place at LHW.

I'm not convinced that DDP is the stronger man either. At least not by enough that he can neutralize Khamzats technically superior wrestling.

He looked skinny, compared to DDP, everything is in the technique.

He looked skinny, compared to DDP, everything is in the technique.

He exemplified the basic concepts of the grappling art, whereby a more skilled man can dominate and control a stronger man. I believe DDP when he said last night Khamzat wasn’t super strong, just that his technique negated any counter he could use to escape the blanketing.

Horrible take coming from a wrestling fan lol

Ddp just explodes from bottom with zero technique, that shit ain't work against proper technique

Honestly people are probably going to shit on you now but what you said isn't necessarily untrue.

No one thought DDP's technique was that abysmal.

So I think it's true that DDP is physically bigger and stronger than Khamzat but it didn't mean anything when he allowed himself to be put into those positions.

“What’s Merab gonna do to Sean wrestle him for 5 rounds”

“Khamzat don’t have the cardio”

“Islam has fought nobody’s, The Champ has a name Charles Oliveira via round 2 KO”

“Leon Edwards got rocked by Nate imagine what Usman will do”

“Leon has dealt with the wrestling of Usman and Colby Belal stands no chance”
