is there anything Poatan can do to overtake Bones as the goat LHW?

No, he’s already been defeated and won’t be able to clean out the division for a couple of decades due to his age. Jones has never lost, simple.

There's no way unless he fights for another 15 years. It's so far from the realm of possibility that this can't even be a consideration for serious discussion.

Get more title defenses and stay more active :)

No, he’s too old, untested on the ground, and LHW is weaker than it was ten years ago as evidenced by old man glover winning the belt at 43 and the two other top dogs needing the full five rounds to beat him. There’s no way that pereira matches Jon’s title defenses. Someone will need to hop on that belt early and fight often. Pereira certainly fights often, but it’s that whole “early” part that sinks him.

If poatan had like 30 we could try and have this talk

He most likely wont have enough time to scratch the surface of it

i dont know maybe defend the title at least once, or better yet 13 times. or perhaps be the LHW champ for 1,501 straight days, or defend the title 8 straight times, or tie the record for most subs in title defenses, or 3rd most finishes in title fights, or go on the longest unbeaten streak in UFC history. you know do something like what is mentioned.

Let's have a discussion
Travel back in time, not get KTFOd by Izzy, and then travel further back in time, at LEAST 10 years or so, and start winning, grab a belt, and defend it for over a decade. That would at least put him in the running for comparison. What a wild post OP.

Honestly, not getting repeatedly popped for PEDS is the only leg-up he could realistically get on Jones' career.

The hype for this guy is the most over the top in MMA history. Even though he’s been protected by the matchmakers, he’s already been starched once by a guy (Adesanya) not known for his knockout power. Prochazka was beginning to have his way when Pereira caught him and the referee ran ran in with the too quick stoppage. GOAT? GTFO.

He can't because he won't be defending his belt as long. He's chasing the HW belt also

Genuinely leagues apart as mixed martial artists. There's no comparison at all.

If he had started younger maybe. We don't really know how he taken to grappling yet because he hasn't had to face top grapplers.

Yes.

Beat Hill, go up an Beat Aspinal an Bones, go back to 205 and beat Russian/Dagestani, then go back to middle weight and Beat Izzy and Khaz.

Then I consider putting him with Bones
