I give DDP the edge against Khamzat

Whenever people try and bring in the "stronger" reason why he should have TDD, the argument falls apart. Khamzat's wrestling is not something you can just out strength and power out. Costa would be a heavy favorite. DDP can scramble like Holland for so many rounds until he can gas Khamzat, but he's also going to gas and it will be heart vs heart, where DDP has the edge. But Khamzat will have plenty of time to take over the fight.

Surviving a mauling and hanging on for dear life probably takes a tremendous toll on the gas tank lol don’t know how he survived that

it does but it would have done way less if he was an actual mw, dude was striking at hw pace in the second round

strenght is extremely important for wrestling, not only tdd but also ability to get up
who do you think is easier to hold down, whittaker or dricus?
when whittaker took dricus down, he got up in ten seconds
when dricus took whittaker down, he couldn't do jack but wait for the round to end

Strength with wrestling is important. DDP is a better grappler and Whittaker's TDD was always overrated because of his Romero fights. DDP has decent grappling to go with his strength, but it's fascinating how no one wants to argue his skills can come close to Khamzat. When was the last fight a non wrestler beat a great one with strength? I mean fighters in their prime.

Not necessarily an advantage to cut an extreme amount of weight, especially when it comes to cardio. More muscles = less gas. And honestly, did he look small compared to Khamzat? Did he look weaker or stronger than Whittaker?

A potentially bulked up Usman might have been harder to move around, sure, but he wouldn't have better cardio. In that potential 5 round full camp fight, I'd also assume Khamzat wouldn't injure his hand in round 1.
And then we would also have Khamzat preparing specifically for Usman for a full camp.

TS also probably said Rob's wrestling would be enough. It very clearly wasn't.

Remember the "Whitaker has Aldo-like TDD" posts before the fight? How'd that work out for you all?

Can't wait for the excuses if Khamzat wins. "DDP wasn't really a strong champ anyway, Khamzat got lucky, it was a fluke, still didn't prove anything, DDP is a bad wrestler so Khamzat still hasn't been tested..."

But meanwhile you idiots are missing the bigger pont here.

We're soon looking at Shavkat vs Khamzat for the MW belt. This is the best fight in MMA right now. Shavkat is undefeated with a 100% finish rate right now, Khamzat is undefeated and has a very high finish rate as well. This fight is VIOLENCE but some people prefer to just talk shit about the most exciting fighters in the game right now than to just enjoy the ride.

Fuck you idiots. Don't watch when Khamzat fights Shavkat. You don't deserve that fight.

dricus doesnt need to be a khamzat level wrestler to beat khamzat, all he needs to do is get up from his takedowns
khamzat would be dead in the water standing against dricus, and to be fair, past the first round i wouldnt be surprised if dricus, the guy who takes everybody he fights down, starts to overtake the known gasser down in grappling

usman had great cardio at ww, but he was fighting like a fat hw in that fight
you really wanna argue that having more time to prepare to move up wouldnt help usman a lot?
is not even about bulking up that much, is about preparing the body to handle the weight without gassing so early

Whittaker was on his way to surviving but he ultimately didn't. Rob is on the downswing of his carer while DDP is at the peak. It should be really interesting. I think DDP has the better ground game than Rob so we'll see if he can survive the first. That's really the key for all of these guys fighting Khamzat.

yeah dude, dricus and whittaker are the exact same fighter and the fight will go down exactly the same way

khamzat has finished everybody in the first round and has never had any trouble right?

Quite disrespectful to call that version of Usman fat. Wonder how his lean mass and body fat percentage would compare to Strickland for example, who carries some extra fat.

I'm arguing that it goes both ways with short notice. Jones famously denied to fight Sonnen on short notice.

Usmans defensive wrestling held up better than Whittakers, who had 2 camps. Give him credit instead of using it as a stick to beat Khamzat with.

DDP has a formidable ground game but is enough to fend off a guy like Khamzat? I'm going with no. You really need to live and breathe grappling. It's like Conor McGregor taking a year off to practice his take down defense as if stopping a takedown from Khabib was the end game. Nah dawg, it's just one small part of it.

That's not the point, though. Usman flew halfway around the world (U.S. to Middle East) to fight in less than 10 days. There's also jet lag to deal with and the fact he had basically zero time to work on cardio.

Literally not what I said at all, but since you can't actually respond to me you have to make shit up.

Fucking pathetic.

not really calling him fat, i said he was moving like a fat HW cause he was gassed hard
cause fighting at mw on short notice is not normal to him

usman is a better wrestler than whittaker so that is not surprising, he also doesnt have a broken sensible jaw
