How much will Uncle Dana pay Jones to fight Tommy?

Notice how Helwanii puts the number in Ngannou´s mouth, and then...for UFC 200, Brock never made 8 million purse, he probably made that in total if he got PPV points (and who knows if he did), he got 2.5 million...so, we need to start separating the "pay", the purse, from the alleged totals this guys make, im 100% sure that Ngannou wasnt going to get 8 million purse, 8 million was a number thrown around by Helwanii and Ngannou said "around that", prepare for months of vague numbers being thrown around and fight not actually happening.

Brock wanted a flat figure, not PPV points as he wasn't sure PPV sales would be as high behind ESPN+. Court documents in the anti-trust case showed he got $8million which was the highest single fight payout to any fighter in the UFC up to that point.
During his layoff between LHW and HW Jones said he got paid around $5million 'give or take' depending on PPV sales up to that point. Jon and Dana bragged his HW contract was the biggest HW contract in UFC history which is why people keep saying over $8million.
This bloke saying Ngannou got over $10mil as champ is out of his damn mind. None of that can be taken seriously at all. Possibly one of the most ridiculous posts I've seen on Sherdog.

Jon will need enough money to make him forget about the public ass beating that he will have to endure. So he probably demands 30 mil like he did for Francis and again, UFC will probably say no way, take 15 or take a walk

Lol this again. Jones is pricing himself out of that fight. Stop being naive. He did the same with Francis.
He is doing just that. But that doesn't mean there isn't an amount he wouldn't accept to take the fight. The UFC really should be willing to open up the bank if they think Tom can win. 30 million to pass the torch to a guy that will be on top for a long time as opposed to what will be viewed as a double paper champ in a weak division if he doesn't.

I completely agree that people need to separate the purse from the total fighter revenue including PPV cut.

But this combined with the fact that UFC fighters are LEGALLY not allowed to report their true earnings including PPV cuts just means that they are likely to lie (and under-report) their earnings, if they say anything at all.

I guarantee Ngannou was making $10M+ per fight as a champion.
Allegedly he had a shit deal and hasnt been a PPV machine anyway, his purse vs Gane (i believe) was like $700K, reported by the AC, so, in purse that was the actual number, only CA does this.

Jon said at the post-fight press conference that only "f*ck you money" would interest him to fight Aspinall.

I think Jones wanted $30 million to fight Ngannou before, which UFC declined.
But now Dana/Hunter are eager to book Jones vs. Aspinall (large part due to fan demand) and you know tomato guy knows a $$ megafight $$ when he sees one.

How much Dana/Hunter willing to spend?
Would Jones accept anything under $50 million?
Jon will meet 15 mil to fight Alex

Really? Because if you read below, the PFL MATCHED the UFC's offer of $8M in his first fight of a 2 fight contract, plus a $2M signing bonus, so he made more in his first fight in the PFL than he would've made fighting Jones. That doesn't even include the boxing money, which BLEW the UFC's offer out of the water. And by the way, Ngannou couldn't be under an NDA for future offers because his last contract was expired and he didn't sign the new one so NO NEW NDA when talking about new offers <lol>Legally allowed to lie? YOU'RE legally allowed to lie, you buffoon. <lmao> You haven't presented one bit of evidence here.

I have evidence, you have schadenfreude.

Evidence, that?

The 8 million number was initially thrown by Helwanii, Ngannou said "around that", i would believe it when i see some contracts from back then, Dana has never mentioned it, iirc.

Jones refused to fight Ngannou and didn't make his heavyweight debut until he was gone. There was years to get that fight done, Jon didn't want it for obvious reasons.

They dug up the bones of retired Stipe to give Jon a signature win (for general audiences who don't know better) but he unequivocally does not want to fight Tom. The UFC isn't going to make a special above and beyond offer, he's got a deal in place and he'll fight the interim title holder or vacate.
What kinda nonsense is this? Jon and the UFC wanted the fight. Ngannou not only wanted a king's ransom to fight Jon but he wanted ridiculous demands like his own personal sponsors, wanted lifetime health insurance and wanted a fighters representative on the executive board (you know the actual bosses of the UFC).

Ngannou was not going to fight Jon without hedging his losses.
If ngannou wanted to fight Jon and Jon didn't want to fight ngannou ngannou would still be in the UFC. Y'all are fucking nuts. I'm going to link the CBS sports story whether ngannou says it's more than just money that would take him to accept fighting Jon Jones.

"Ngannou told "The MMA Hour" on Tuesday that money was not the primary sticking point during his negotiations with UFC. Ngannou asked to have his own sponsors, health insurance and a fighter advocate at UFC board meetings. Ngannou subsequently clarified this was a request he wanted to be applied to all UFC fighters. The UFC, according to Ngannou, shot down all three talking points."

Dana White has said there's more than 1 way to duck a fight and asking for outrageous demands is 1 of them. Like or Nate Dana White even a broken clock is right twice a day and Dana was spot on on this issue. Ngannou was never going to accept Jon without making the UFC grab their ankles.
You think if that UFC offered ngannou $50 mil he'd have the same demands? Hell no. He'd of stfu and fight Jon and taken his L. But instead he tried to look like the fighter's fighter on his way out the door. Asking for shit he knows the UFC would never give.

If I go to my boss and ask for half mil a year he'd laugh at me all the way to the unemployment office.

Theres no way that fight is even worth 30 mil

If they didnt make the Francis fight, they not gonna make this one either.

Not for 30 million.

Jones aint a Conor like draw

Heard Jones made 15 million (show + ppv) against Stipe.

If it's the biggest heavyweight fight in history (according to Dana),
he will have to get more than this.

Seems like 15-18 million ballpark sounds about right. This is just nonsensical speculation though.

Not that bad, I bet on Trump to win. So either way I would not feel too bad,

If Jon walks around MAGAville he might get lynched, as an older white guy I certainly will not. No Muslim ban for me, not gay, not Mexican. Trump's incompetence does not affect me much compared to the average American.
It might suck if his plan to cut social security for people with pensions goes through though.

Yikes.

Just my opinion but I think that Jon is worried that Tom will be the first fighter to beat him.

I personally would favor Tom over Jon at this point. Tom is lightyears faster than Stipe and moves like a welterweight. As good as Bones is, he doesn't want any part of that.

He wants Pereira because he knows that he more than llikely beats Pereira by finding a unique way to trip him to the ground where Alex is at his worst.
