Do you think Aspinall will take down Gane instantly?

It's an interesting standup fight, I suppose. But won't aspinall just take him down and submit him? Any reason to think that he couldn't/wouldn't? Why risk anything?

I think he'll easily get a takedown, yes, but I don't think he'll necessarily go in there to do that, it'll just end up happening.

Aspinall by straight armbar in about 90 seconds.

If Gane wins and Jones is back, what is Dana supposed to do then?

I believe Tom will put immediate pressure for a smash and grab -- whether it leads to a takedown or a beatdown.

It would be funny if Tom pulled a Khamzat and sat on Gane for 5 Rounds -- I'd probably throw a beer bottle at the screen...

I'm gonna put my expectations on Low -- and not get my hopes up like I did with the Khamzat v DDP fight.

Since aspinall has better bjj than Jones . I kinda doubt that..

Tom doesn't seem in a hurry to take down strikers. Gane isn't especially dangerous because he is not a KO puncher, more of a quality point striker.

Gane won't survive the second round, maybe not even the first. If he doesn't knock Gane out, he will get him down and finish him fairly early in the fight.

He will get a takedown and all the Gane haters will be shocked that Tom won't be able to do fucking shit with it besides lay on him for a while and waste some time, then Gane will get up. Gane almost certainly takes down Aspinall at least once in the fight. I am worried about Gane getting caught on the feet though can't lie.

is this a solid victory for Aspinall either way? He doesn't use his legs like Jones so can't this play out differently?

Tom IMHO puts him away using the same game plan that Jones avoided since 2013...

Tom walked the walk by fighting and beating top 10 Heavyweights, not just talking the talk.

Dana probably shouldn't allegedly award Cyril with a second "Gift of Gane" title hijacking.

I think he'll throw a few jabs, a couple leg kicks, some feints. then shoot and go for a kimura

I think Tom will immediately take him down and look to sub him with a keylock or kimura in the first.

He knows he needs to get him out of there as fast as Jon did or he won’t hear the end of it.

I doubt Tom will be worried in the striking and he will engage freely, Gane is not a big puncher, he is a point fighter and usually wins by decision or if he does get a finish its always in later rounds, sure he is skilled and has some nice striking but I just feel the danger is not really there, So Tom will probably strike for a while and then if Gane falls take it from there.

I've been driving the Aspinall war wagon since before it was cool, but there's nothing to suggest that he is a good wrestler.

This is a very dangerous fight for Aspinall. He has a terrible habit of keeping his chin in the air, and he attacks in straight lines. He's begging to be clipped, and Gane is the much more technical striker.

If Aspinall fully secures top position, there's a chance he finishes Gane in short order. But the takedown might be more difficult than people think.

I think he'll shoot first round, no way he stays standing. Maybe he wants to test himself, but he's usually always chosen the path of least resistance. If he fights Almeida afterwards he'll probably keep it standing.

you actually believe this or do you just like posting predictions that make you seem half-retarded?

Predictions like what? That Khamzat vs DDP was not a competitive fight? That Ank would not only win but nearly KO Poatan? That Bo Nickal's wrestling wouldn't translate to MMA and he'd lose to RDR. These are on recent record, sounds like decent predictions.

So I take it that your smart prediction is that Gane will just give up the sub as fast as he did against Jones?

Aspinall seems to be a very smart fighter who will take the easiest path to victory, and that is with a takedown, he'll go for one in the first minute I'd reckon
