Gane doesn't give a shit about training his ground game and tdd. He's not about getting sweaty on the mats.

He comes for a quick pay check and his yearly undeserved ts knowing he's here to strike.

"I believe Gane has evolved and excelled in take down defence."

I'll believe that when I see it.

50/50. In Volkov second fight Gane was injured. Who exactly Asp took down in his career? Volkov and Arlovski. Gane aslo took Volkov down easily even with injury.
Aspinall has four takedowns on four attempts in about 18 minutes of UFC cage time and the main reason he doesn't have more is that he also has five UFC knockdowns. Putting his opponents on the mat with greater frequency than once every two minutes would be implausible. His takedown technique is very strong, with excellent power and timing, making it hard to defend and safer than most fighters' technique. Four isn't much of a sample size, of course, but that's why you really have to look at technique directly to evaluate the likelihood of approval taking Gane down, and the gap between Aspinall's takedown technique and Gane's takedown defense technique is absolutely huge.

There's no good reason to believe that Aspinall can't essentially take Gane down at will. That doesn't mean he will, and any prediction about how many takedowns he'll get is going to be a high variance prediction, but if you had to bet, the only reason to bet against Aspinall landing a first round takedown is that you believe Aspinall will finish Gane off a knockdown before a takedown can happen.

What's your prediction on that?

Do you think Aspinall will be able to take down Gane easily and frequently?

I believe Gane has evolved and excelled in take down defence.

Just Ngannou was shit in his take down defence in his first fight with Stipe.

Ngannou took that defeat and lesson and applied it to his future fights.

You got to learn and adapt and get better. If you have basic enough intelligence.
Everyone is sure acting like he'll be able to, but I don't know where the evidence of that is.

I saw some recent videos and Gane absolutely has bettered his TDD. He uses his size well in this situation.

I voted, Yes Tom will take him down but Gane's learned a trick or two.

Also, remember Tom actually fights with a decent fight IQ. He knows his path to least resistance

In what fight since the Jon Jones fight did Cyril show you improved TDD? Because he hasn't fought anyone who tried to take him down has he? Volkov went 0-0 in TDs and Spivak was 0-1. Not sure how you have concluded that Gane has evolved?

I believe Aspinal gets a fist TD and KO's Gane.

The takedown threat is going to enhance Toms striking and leave Gane vulnerable to getting clobbered. Whether he gets a takedown or not.

tom should be fighting jailton or lewis. styles make fights.

after reading this thread gane should just give up now. lol

i wont watch it live, but will be pulling for the upset

because the heavy weight division needs something to gather some interest.
