Aspinall doesn't have the offensive wrestling like Jon Jones, but his takedown defense is pretty solid and he's a better striker than Jon Jones, so he could dictate the fight goes to where he has an advantage. Tom is certainly not a better striker he has better hands. but Jones range management and low kicks with reach give him the edge. Jones would have to sandbag or lose a step considerably to lose to Aspinall which of course is possible with his age and mileage but skill for skill Jones is very likely better everywhere. It's hard to compare the two with the sample sizes we have.

If they propose this fight to Jones again - after he he questioning himself for his benders and feels he needs structure in his life - he takes this in a heart beat. Jones knows Tom is easy money. Tom should be stripped of the belt. The division has been held up for 2 years. Make HW Openweight so guys like Eddie Hall can fight and run a tourny to crown the new champ.

Aspinall's biggest mistake was hanging around for Jones, man should have fought Gane 3-4 months after Blaydes.

Yes he took down Volk who is a kickboxer. Jones has taken people like Cormier down.

I find it hard that to think a prime Jones wouldn’t completely dominate the grappling.

40 year old Jones probably still dominates the grappling.

Hmmm I dunno man. Even Gane took Volkov down twice and he's got zero grappling according to most on here. Maybe he just doesn't have the best ttd.
