Greg Hardy and Nate Robinson both proved that it doesn’t matter if your an A level athlete. It’s not a cake walk going into combat sports just because you were good at football and basketball

Greg Hardy walked off the street into the UFC at nearly 30 years old with zero fight background and was competitive. He went to a decision with Volkov who is as legit a HW as their is.

Hardy is a garbage human being but what he did was insanely impressive.

He will never make 265 again.

Khabib invents super heavy weight division or he goes Bare Knuckle.

More likely he eats himself into oblivion and we see his mugshot shortly after the attention ceases

They moved him too fast. He shouldn’t have been fighting top 10 guys right away.

They gave him a series of jobbers to build up wins but he fucked some of those up by kneeing downed opponents and using an asthma inhaler between rounds. The Volkov fight was a late replacement one and then he was back to low ranked jobbers up til the Tybura fight. Dude was just not good and should have been fighting in the regional scene, not the UFC.

The only reason he was on the roster was because he was a well known scumbag so people would gladly watch hoping to see him get KTFO.

Hardy had the balls and did extremely well considering his experience. I give him all the credit in the world. After all, he has been fighting the best in the world.

he was almost 30 when he joined a beginners class in mma and was in the ufc fought 2 top 5 guys.

are you pretending that’s achievable in any sport that has ever existed ?

combat sports is a different thing but yeah, pro athletes have gone from one sport to another, its just rare. there's been crossovers, most guys just dont attempt it.

his career ultimately wasn't that impressive. he did pretty good given the late start. on paper he should have been champ, no problem.

I didn't know that guy was supposed to be famous, he was just another fat mediocre heavyweight to me.

maybe this soyboy can fight in japan where the competition is a little easier.

Based on what exactly lol? His top tier athlete/football background? I don't really agree with this. Athleticism can only get you so far.

Yes that and his ko over inexperienced/future journeyman hws. This wasn't my projection, it was the projection of many posters here. I didn't expect him to win a belt but thought he might challenge for one at some point doesn't look like that will ever happen

Woman beating , suspended by the NFL former player then signed by desperate for investors & attention seeking UFC( he was a green HW), now released.
Dude would have went into bullfighting if they would have paid and signed him, Kimbo/Toney/Punk/Hardy marks.
