Yeah Klobuchar pissed me off by being super condescending but I do like her for the most part. I'd be okay if her name made it into the mix. Her biggest problem is that she's a total raging bitch, but that's not a deal-breaker for me when she's good with policy.

ed: the example of her from the debate was the "bigger fish to fry" comment where she took him so completely and obviously out of context that she should have been booed off the stage. The only way a comment that false and shitty will fly is if people are anticipating it, if they want to hear it. It was just a totally dishonest bullshit comeback by her, and she knew it. She resorted to an act of dishonesty because she was on the back foot. Pete has never done anything like that afaik.
Damn, I didn’t see that part. But for sure she’s a bitch. I like that though (but not what you pointed out here though). Give my a fighter against Trump.

Warren just sucks...

During the debate, Warren criticized Buttigieg for hosting an exclusive donor event in a Napa Valley "wine cave" that featured $900 bottles of wine.

"Billionaires in wine caves should not pick the next president of the United States," she said, adding "I do not sell access to my time."

However, this policy is somewhat new for Warren, who took money from wealthy donors during her most recent Senate reelection campaign. She also took $10 million from her Senate reelection campaign to seed her presidential bid.

The Associated Press highlighted a donor event that Warren held in June 2018 at City Winery Boston. People who were in attendance that donated $1000 received a souvenir wine bottle.

Literally fuck this guy

In a recent email exchange with a wealthy prospective donor, a top fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg made an offer that was unusually blunt — even by modern pay-to-play standards.

What they're saying: "If you want to get on the campaign's radar now before he is flooded with donations after winning Iowa and New Hampshire, you can use the link below for donations," the fundraiser, H.K. Park, wrote in an email to the donor, which was reviewed by Axios.

  • The Buttigieg campaign lists Park on its website as one of its top fundraisers — those who have raised at least $25,000 for the campaign.
Why it matters: Brendan Fischer at the campaign finance watchdog the Campaign Legal Center said the Buttigieg fundraiser's pitch "is an example of a campaign offering potential donors an opportunity to buy influence."
  • "It's rare that the public has an opportunity to see it in writing," Fischer added, "but this is not the only campaign that's offering big donors the opportunity to get on the radar of the candidate in exchange for large contributions."
  • The revelation comes days after Democratic presidential rival Elizabeth Warren went after Buttigieg for raising money from billionaires in a "wine cave."
The prospective donor was also disturbed by the solicitation. "It's very telling and concerning that one of the campaign's major bundlers would talk like that," said the donor, who asked not to be named.
  • "What would this suggest about the way he's going to interact with Silicon Valley if the implication is pay-for-play?"
  • "If that's the way he's operating," the donor added, "it's in the public interest for people to know what's being said."

Hopefully someone mentions this shit at the next debate.

That article suffers from Bernie Blindness

mentions Warren bringing up the wine cave but fails to recognize that the Bernie campaign literally bought “Peteswinecave.com” which redirects to Bernie’s donation site and had staffers wearing that shirt at the debates.

I think the problem is with your preoccupation with things like "Bernie Blindness." Neither I nor 99% of the general public knew any of that. Meanwhile, Warren and Buttigieg's spat has been very public and is well-known by anyone who has followed the race or watched the debates.

Yeah that’s kinda the point

Former Cigna exec on twitter talking about the choice argument.

I know there are a lot of people who like Bernie on this website but I rarely see topics about Andrew Yang. We haven't ever had a candidate who is as compassionate and able to bring both sides together as well as Yang has so far in his grassroots campaign. This guy understands what is going on in this country and while I respect Bernie Sanders, I think his time has past. He has been saying the same stuff for 40 years and everyone says this is an example of how strong he is but I see it the opposite and here is why

Bernie hasn't realized that the world we live in today is completely different from the time his original ideas sprouted. He talks about a living wage yet 15 dollars an hour is a joke in many places that would do nothing to eliminate poverty. Companies would cut hours and even possibly jobs and replace them with automated kiosks. Yang is the only candidate talking about UBI and this would be a universal program that would not further divide people and help both those who earn under and above 15. It is essentially a 6+ dollar an hour wage increase for everyone. Let's also keep in mind that raising a minimum wage does nothing for stay at home moms and dads.

Bernie also has no clue about AI. Yang is totally right about China spending a ton of resources on the development of artificial intelligence. By implementing a UI that scales with inflation we can have a safety net in place for the next wave of automation. By having this safety net we can then proceed to accelerate the advancement of AI without worrying if people will be sleeping on the streets. I don't think we can ever solve poverty 100% because there will always be some outliers but Yang's plan is so far ahead of Bernie who just wants to make you a slave to the government for 15 bucks an hour.

Anyway, I sincerely hope there are people here who are willing to spread the word and choose a once in a lifetime candidate that will bring both the right and left together.

Please go to yang2020.com and support this guy.

He wont get the nod though. Gonna be Biden v Trump....and Trump getting reelected again. It's tough to win against a sitting president.

I'd probably take Trump again over a bunch of other candidates but I'm not going to sit on the sidelines and assume Yang will fail. He has been on a roll lately and I don't intend to give up. I just donated 50 bucks again.

The best you can hope for is that Yang sticks around long enough in the debates that some of his ideas start resonating with voters.

I like the idea of UBI, just not sure how feasible it is to fund it.

Yang is a cool guy, but he is polling at 2-3% right now, as he has been all along.

The first votes are going to be cast in just over six weeks.

It seems like it is down to Bernie or Joe.

Mayor Pete has a chance because he is doing really well in early voting states, so he could hypothetically build some momentum.
