I think where the frustration with some people comes from is that they take more of a "well, let's wait and see how it works out" position with things Trump does. I assume that Trump is not looking out for the general population or our position in global politics and I am usually proven right.

I liked his first term. Outside of his rhetoric and abandoning the kurds i was ok with the job he did. The second term was much more criticized imo from the bill, tariffs particularly on 1st world allies, israel/Palestinian conflict, stance on Ukraine at times. This off the top of my head.

He's worked with the Democrats for fifteen years and been very effective.

Vance as VP to the worst president in history is not valuable experience, and being a senator doesn't prepare you to govern, especially when you consider senators spend 90% of their time raising funds for their next campaign.
 
Well he's a massive supporter of Israel and it's efforts in the US. I imagine that's somewhat relevant.

Its only because everything is condemned/hailed before anything has had an opportunity to unfold. The number of peeps drawing conclusions before and I can't say definitively that it won't work out that way. Israel/Iran is a good example. The number of WWIII statements on US involvement made in here and all of the conclusions.... I was even critical of the action but it worked out. When peeps draw a conclusion before the end how can I say they are right or wrong? That would not be an honest viewpoint. So Im left with waiting to see who is proven correct vs the typical back and forth in here where peeps draw definitive conclusions before the outcome

Meh, Trump is a fucking train wreck, brother. I wish I could be more optimistic, but watching this country slip into authoritarianism has left me jaded.
