It certainly can't hurt. It's probably more to Joe's benefit than Trumps. Most of Joe's audience was probably already voting for Trump and Joe is probably doing this as an oppology for "endorsing" RFK and saying nice things about Kamala's debate performance.

I expect if it happens Joe will toss him softballs, and try to shine him up. This isn't going to be a challenging discussion on policy.

For Trump's part, Joe will let him say any crazy thing he wants and not only will he not push back, he'll launder it, and act like it's gospel. That'll be parsed into clips and shared all over social media. However it'll largely be from Trump supporters to Trump supporters.

Talking about Trump. And I've commented on his views and opinions a lot. Here, I'm just saying that people seeing him talk more is not good for his propaganda efforts because he's so obviously unfit. When you have people spinning his dumb comments, that works better for him than if people are directly exposed to his confused rambling and authoritarianism.

Did you see it? He was making logical errors in order to try to "gotcha" her.

At one point, he acknowledges that economic stats are what they are, but says "the American people" don't seem to be feeling it, and then says "are they wrong?" There are over 300 million American people. Some feel it, some don't. That's why we collect hard data. And why try to bait her to saying that people are wrong? Another one was when he noted she said that Trump is divisive and has used racist tropes, "yet (he) has the support of millions and millions of Americans." Yeah? So? And then he talks about her proposed spending programs, and asks how she'll pay for it, and she says how, and then he denies that it would pass. OK. She probably won't get a lot of her wishlist done if she wins because Republicans will probably have the Senate, and the House is also going to be very close. But how would her spending plans pass, then? Makes no sense. He was just trying to be combative for its own sake. It wasn't an informative interview. He just wanted the pat on the back from Republicans (who didn't give it to him--Trump literally said that they should lose their broadcast license, in another attack on freedom of speech that fake defenders of that don't seem to care about).
