Who is the best heavyweight mma fighter? (besides Fedor)

Just to remember you, Fedor didn't take on the second generation of PRIDE hws, like Werdum, Barnett, Kharitonov, Alistair. Didn't have the rematch with Cro Cop.
Only faced Hunt (not good on the ground at that time, no takedown defense).
Also never faced Igor Vovchanchyn.
He was well rounded for his time, but not fully testet in PRIDE.

Ngannou or Prime Cain pre back injuries imo.
Prime Werdum deserves a shout too. So well rounded and quality wins.

Yeah, but you know who did beat Werdum, Barnett, Alistair's older brother, Sergei and Cro Cop?

Big Nog aka the 2nd greatest HW of all time

Noguiera or Werdum in my eyes.

Stipe is up there though I for whatever reason I don't rate him THAT highly
Crocop should be mentioned
Cain doesn't have the wins.

1. Fedor
2. Nog
3. Werdum
4. Mirko
5. Randy
6. Stipe
7. Cain
8. JDS
9. Ngannou
10. Cormier

A) Jones
B) Aspinall
C) Ngannou
D) Pereira

I think after Tom failed to get Gane KO'd within the 1st minute, this discussion becomes more even and balanced.

Is it Jones who finished Gane in 2 minutes?
Is it Ngannou who KO'd nearly everyone?
Is it Tom who has MW movement and sub-1 minute KOs?
Is it Pereira, double UFC champion, who was shaking his head at Tom "quitting"?
DCs only loss at HW is to Stipe.
Prior to that he never lost a round in HW

Fedore on the other hand got flatlines by a 40 year ols MW

Francis ngannou is right now but stipe still holds the 4 defence record consecutive. Only 1 other UFC. Fighter has done it.

But none come close to what Fedor accomplished

Peaks:
1, Jones
2. Cain
3. Ngannou

Career at HW:
1. Fedor
2. Stipe
3. Werdum

Current:
1. Jones
2. Ngannou
3. Gane/Poatan

Prime Cain and Strikeforce DC in my book. Very well-rounded and difficult styles to counter.

If we are talking h2h ability wise at everyones respective best its between Cain, DC and you'd have to put Jon there too even though we only saw him at HW for a short time and late in his career.

Mirko, Big Nog, or Stipe. HW DC is in that convo too & a healthy Cain Velasquez smokes anyone.

I've always said that the two guys quite likely to give a prime Fedor legit loss were Cain and DC.

Two more very complete HWs (great grappling base, solid hands)

Big Nog and Cro Cop for #2 & 3.

Then you have a gap then Cain.

Cain was something, just had a short career.

Some of those fights just wouldn’t have made sense. Werdum barely cracked the top 10 until 2006/2007, it wasn’t a fight anyone was calling for. Same with Overeem, who was a LHW most of his time in PRIDE; he tried entering the HWGP in 2006, lost in the first round, then went back to LHW. I don’t think Overeem was even a top 10 ranked HW until like 2009. Sergei hit like #10 in the rankings at the tail end of 2006. There’s really just not a time those fights would’ve made sense unless it was just randomly thrown together for a tournament.

Poatan is a HW fighter now? lol
