dogshit pay means unhappy HWs who leave as soon as they're hot ..

Wait 3 years from now, it will get going strong again. It's an ebb and flow.

Gable
Big Frank, get Hunter on it so Dana doesn't be a bitch.

Then recruit old football players and find some big people. Hire people to recruit and pay better. It seems like they don't care.

Gable Stevenson is the heir to the Jones HW crown. An Olympic gold medalist, 103-3 career wrestling record, knockout power, and he's being trained by Jones ( the most accomplished fighter in MMA history). HW is in such a pathetic state right now I guarantee he's getting fast tracked and will fight for the title in 2027.
I mean the jury's very much still out on Stevenson, he's washed out of the NFL and WWE and is now trying MMA as a last resort and has only had one fight.

I have no idea how serious he actually is about MMA, obviously the raw talent and athleticism is there but I question the commitment.

People don't understand that the athleticism of top Olympic athletes is literal leagues above anyone else. Every Olympic gold medalist of the modern era that has competed in the UFC has won a championship. The only two that didn't were from the early NHB days, Mark Schultz (1-0 UFC, 1996) and Kevin Jackson ( 2-2 UFC, Won UFC 14 Tournament 1997). Training with the GOAT Jon Jones gives him a significant advantage over the others as well.

I don't think his commitment will be an issue. Here is training with former UFC HW champ Brock Lesnar 6 years ago. MMA may have been his last resort, but there's no denying he's a special athlete and would literally run through 90% of the current UFC HW's

It’s been doomed for years.

For the sake of the division, Tom needs to bear Gane and then fight Pereira after. If Alex won, it would be awesome and if Tom defends, maybe there’ll be another contender he hasn’t smashed by then.

HW is terrible and the fact that Dana feuds with and slanders pretty much all his heavyweight champs doesn't make it appealing for athletes wanting to get into the sport.

they should abolish the belt and rankings at HW, cut anyone who isn't a finisher and make it clear the division is only about people getting flatlined (*or getting their foot ripped off). It could be the BKFC of the UFC.

it's time for couture to come back and save the division one last time.

even brock has a shot at the gold.

hell if jake paul drills takedown defense for two years i am pretty sure he beats tom or has a good shot at winning.

In so many words, yes.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Fedor will get cloned and come back and clean things up.

FTR, anyone who says that Cain or Werdum or Stipe are the GOAT at HW needs to be shot. The are times where questions are open for debate, and times where one side of the argument is just plain wrong. The three best HW's of all time are: (1) Fedor; (2) Fedor's shadow; (3) Fedor's reflection in the mirror.

It's always been pretty bad with only a few decent fighters.

And now we don't even have a real champion. Just some guy who got his belt handed to him through the mail. How can someone be champion without ever fighting for it? Makes no sense.

They need to run it back ASAP and bring some legitimacy to the belt. Or just let Waldo or Valter fight Gane for the belt if Tom isn't up to it.
