Poatan doesn't need to fight Meatball to earn any kind of BMF title. There's not a fighter in the UFC that better represents a BMF than Poatan really. Fighting often, fighting injured, saving big events, not whining like a bitch, no resorting to trash talk, all business... and not to take anything away from Max, but damned if Alex wasn't out to make a statement that last fight.

Alex is a scary dude and his punching power is nuts when he's all fired up. Pereira's probably going to put in two fights before we see Ankalaev return. All that bullshit about Magomed having previously broken ribs is horseshit, they're just trying to take away from Pereira's aura. Alex fucked him up properly. I don't care if he wins or loses, but I want to see him fight often. If he fights at HW the way he just rematched Ank...



Wouldn't mind seeing Alex in an easy HW warmup at MSG. No need for a weight cut, and he's already healthy. Give him some fat punching bag.

The BMF title isn't about title wins. That's what the normal belt is for.

The BMF title is for those dudes that have a fan-friendly just bleed fighting style and they're not afraid to take risks.

It's true, it may be wishful thinking on my part but I think JDM will have a degree of physicality that could give Islam fits.

Every guy Islam has beat in his title run was a 45er either when they fought, or at some point previously. Do Bronx, Volk, Doostin and Money moicano. In addition to Dober, Hooker and Nik Lentz before that

Well...some of it probably has to do with how much he likes his chances vs each? If he thinks he can beat Poatan easily but not Aspinall, you probably have your answer.

Isn't the very definition the BMF this badass guy who'll fight anyone at any time, win or lose, just go out there and scrap and all the usual dumb points?

I was trying to find an official definition of the "BMF belt" on the UFC website, but apparently there isn't one. It was originally conceived as a one-off novelty title for the 2019 fight between Diaz and Masvidal, and since 2023 they have been using this title more regularly to promote fighters with an aggressive fighting style.
