Who deserves it more, Morales or Garry

Prates gets styled on for three-and-half rounds against Garry, then beats Garry's leftovers and the shell of Leon Edwards yet he is ahead 😄

People act like Garry was virtually done in the fifth round of their fight - yet not a single judge scored a 10-8 round.

Yes the revisionist history itt is strong. That fight wasn’t close. Prates came back strong at the end, and good for him. The most human Ian has looked iirc. But Prates still lost.

One thing is clear in the wake of last night; Machado still has a lot of haters.

I'd give it to the young undefeated fighter with the finish streak

Yeah it seems any objective analysis goes out of the window - "Prates was about to knock him out then the bell rung", "Belal lost because of an eye poke and he wasn't that good anyway, he got lucky winning the belt" etc etc.

Garry right now but Morales doesn't need to worry, his shot is coming soon.

Man I defend Garry a good amount but he makes it SOOOO fucking hard to be a fan. How is he so big, really fast, has great vision, awesome on the ground but cannot get a KO in these fights where he is clearly the faster puncher using the better angles and movement? For the first time its really annoying me as I thought the Prates fight was amazing considering what Prates is doing to everybody else but Belal is really small man. He was getting tagged (I think rolling better with it so it was not as bad as it looked) but really connecting and just played the outside and sprinting away at times. If you fight like he does and that's the game plan, STFU on the mic and just be professional. Prates just floored a guy who was champ and never knocked out while Gary had two eye pokes and marginally better rounds which could of been easily been fucked up by the judges.

Shavkat's best win is against Garry...a decision.

Shavkat's best win was being the first man to stop Neal in the UFC when he was one of the most dangerous guys in the division. Garry would then point fight Neal in an absolute stinker to a split decision.

Basically your post is what stupidity looks like.

Garry already lost to Shavkat, he's only on a 2 fight streak, and they were both ABSOLUTE STINKER point fighting decisions. I don't see how that is even refutable?

The only person that got hurt in the Garry x Prates fight was Garry, and he nearly got put away. He has routinely point fought against ranked competition with a few absolute stinkers.

Prates has two - holy shit someone died - KOs since his fight with Garry, who has yet another point fighting stinker over Belal coming off a loss.

I see no clear mandate for Garry as he lost to Shavkat... Prates and Morales are both surging.
Also Khamzat the Mighty shoved him which further slides him down the rankings.

Bloody hell Neal is a high-level gatekeeper - who already lost to other gatekeepers in Magny and Holland ffs.

Are you a fighter on the regional circuit, taken too many blows to the head?? Might explain some of the shite you come out with.

Garry needs to decide whether he wants to continue as a point fighter and take the long road to a title shot, or take some risks in a fight and commit to trying to finish someone. But there's no way he's getting the next shot after that fight.
I dont think he means to BE a point fighter.

He tries to finish, and he just cant. He's just not a finisher at this level.

He tries standing, and on the ground but it's just not there.

(And Shavkat should fight Prates upon his return)

Morales is the more exciting option. However on paper, as it pains me to say, Garry probably deserves it more. Garry has the names on his resume, the only issue that others have reiterated is the underwhelming method of victory despite his trash talk.

Usman has something Morales hasn't: a name.

I don't understand the fascination with Morales. He's legit one of the easiest matchups for Makhachev
He's a giant in the division with probably the most KO power. It's only going to be an easy match up if Islam actually gets him down.

His only top level win is Garry, and that was when Garry was ranked much lower. Shavkat has the weakest resume out of the current crop of contenders due to his inactivity. Yes I know he's injured, but the point still stands.
