And my point is I dont think that's a fair characterization of Chavez given the amount of rampant Imperialism that has always plagued Latin America, which immediately refers to any leftist movement as also Imperialism. As an example, Trump will likely enact a coup on behalf of his successor (which will likely be Vance) to have "MAGA" installed into power by claiming elections cannot be trusted, Chavez initiated something similar but the difference is the capitalists in Venezuela were already in power and oppressing opposition. Similar to what Bautista was doing in Cuba, and MAGA will do here.

There are a lot of "fake socialists" here claiming to be "on the left"...just look at TYT. They're trying to co-opt the term "progressives" because its fairly vague. Many of them are already selling out to capital interests.
