The US is in this to protect Guyanese oil interests. Guyana recently discovered one of the largest oil deposits ever in their territorial waters.

Neighboring Venezuela is trying to claim it all and started amassing troops at their border. Guyana reached out to the US for help and that is why we have the situation we have now. We're basically threatening Maduro's regime so they don't try to do anything.

This whole situation has nothing to do with drug cartels. It's about oil.
