I don't see many liberals continuing to defend Obama's drone strikes today, but even if we assume they are only objecting for political or inauthentic reasons, it's still obviously better to take the right stance today vs being right a few years ago.

It's a wash at the end of the day, so there's really no point in trying to paint either side as all that sincere. On every "controversial" issue, partisan politics rule. Look at the shit going on in Minnesota right now. Not a whole lot of outrage from the left, and as it heats up(which seems likely), they'll come to Walz's defense. If roles were reversed, roles would be reversed.
