The reason Cyril Gane has little chance against Tom Aspinall

You also gotta factor in margin of error. If Tom fucks up, good chance he eats what Gane catches him with and the fight goes on. No guarantee of course (it's HW), but we've seen Tom take a decent shot from a much bigger punchers than Gane (Pavlovich).
On the flipside, if (when?) Tom lands there's a very good chance that's it. Everyone he's touched so far has crumbled. And while I don't think Gane necessarily has a glass chin, we saw Tuivasa (who has power to be fair) drop him like a sack of bricks. Good recovery by Gane (and Tai's follow up was spastic flailing), but if that's Tom dropping him I have little doubt that Gane is fucked.
Very true possibilities. But there is some context to the Tuivasa fight.... Gane was a headliner for France his country, and obviously could've taken Tuivasa down and done whatever or chill back and chip away to a decision, he instead got aggressive with him and paid for it. Still won the fight too. But yeah if Tuivasa can crack him, Aspinall too for sure, however I highly doubt Gane is going to go aggro like he did in that fight and Aspinall is going to have to get more clever to land.

Sure...but comparing Tai to Aspinall is night and day. Tai looks stuck in mud compared to Tom. Even if Gane is more defensively responsible, he may well get caught because he's gonna be facing the most dynamic offensive striker HW has seen in a long time. (Maybe ever).

True, but he stood with Volkov (who's mostly a striker), JDS, Lewis, Ngannou, Rozenstruik without getting knocked down.. I wouldn't say that it's crazy to consider Aspinall in a different league than those guys standing. And even until today, that was the only time Gane was knocked down in the UFC, he also was uncharacteristically aggressive to put on a show. If Aspinall does catch him it's going to be very impressive to me compared to when Tuivasa did it, I have to give Aspinall huge credit if he pulls it off and rate his striking as very elite.

All of those guys are good strikers definitely. They obviously just lack the combination of speed and power that Aspinall has. But Gane is obviously a helluva striker too so we'll see if his technical prowess is enough to overcome the offensive firepower he's up against.

Gane didn't get clipped because he was aggressive, he got clipped because he threw his shit lazy. Just like he got taken down because he threw a lazy jab at Jon Jones who was waiting for it like a shark in a fish tank. I don't know why a top level striker would do that except for maybe arrogance that no one matches him in that category, so he can get away with anything? Hopefully he's learned something or it's going to be a short night for him

I think tom will win because be is better at every aspect of fighting then gane has ever been. I know some people think he is good because he is ripped. Im assuming the same people who think Eddie hall would be champ if it wasnt for the weight limit
tom aspinal is a world muay thai champion like gane now huh

last time hes a world bjj blackbelt champion
and a olympian level wrestler like dc

Weak excuses. Sorry. But it is.

He’s not going to land volume on Tom. He only has looked good against fat brawlers and even Tuivasa had him asleep. It’s one thing to be able to style on overweight brawlers and he’s mostly done that but those are the only times he’s ever looked impressive.

Gane fans have calmed down a lot but there was a time on here where some called him a HW Anderson Silva lmfao
Fuck, if you're going to claim that Tuivasa had him in any actual trouble, then it's not worth bothering with you.

Wearing down Aspinall over time is not a sane option; he attacks too quickly, aggressively, accurately, and powerfully for that. Ngannou is a counterpuncher with fantastic power; wearing him down over time is mostly a matter of having solid defense and not making major mistakes with your striking, something Gane is particularly good at when he's fighting comfortably at distance.
When he outstrikes, it's generally not trading with people, it's picking them apart without taking anything equivalent.

No one has been able to do anything close to striking with him, so, while maybe Aspinall has it in him, I'm not getting where that's a given that he's going to be able to do that.

Gane has only 1% chance in this fight vs future GOAT HW (by injury or DQ of course). <BC1>

You didn’t watch the fight did you? Tuivasa dropped him and had him almost finished. Even gane admitted he was out for a brief second. I’d consider that “actual trouble”, yeah.

Imagine pretending he didnt when there's these things called TV and the Internet

He dropped him, and Gane popped up immediately, on solid legs, with balance, was firing back in seconds, had Tuivasa hurt and reeling about 20 seconds later, and not from a wild, panicked lucky shot. Calling that "asleep" only means you don't know what sleeping means.

Imagine pretending he was in any danger of being finished.

Calling that asleep only shows you have worse reading comprehension than a second grader. Attacking an argument i never made.

And you are still wrong. Everyone can see Tuivasa had him in trouble there. You can pretend the video doesn't show what it does but Everyone else doesn't have to indulge your delusions.

objectively speaking of COURSE he has a chance.

doesn't mean he will win.

Gane gets uncomfortable when he is unable to dictate the pace and be the metronome on his feet. key term: on his feet bc he doesn't succeed anywhere else.

Aspinall is a Lancastrian with the humble wall that is immune to provocation which causes many to stand with people who are more skilled on their feet than them and i very much believe gane has that above Tom.

but the moment Aspinall senses it isnt the best idea he will blitz early takedowns and TD a fighter extremely prone to such a manoeuvre and pretty much finish him off from there.

Gane just isnt the same fighter as when he came out its proven he isnt as dedicated as he was for I was convinced the moment he erupted in absurd laughs whilst playing FIFA a day before Jones.

calling it here this fight ends in R1.

betting my account on it.
