Chill, man. He literally hasn't done anything wrong yet. Not rushing into another fight camp after his face looked like hamburger is completely reasonable. You don't wanna take Izzy lightly.

Volk is a good example of what happens when you don't adequately prepare and recover for great opponents. People rightly criticized Volk for that, yet now they criticize DDP for not repeating Volk's mistakes...

I don't blame him as much as I blame the culture that has shaped how people act these days.

People like Conor started this shit, and Dana let him get away with it. And now everyone is picking their fights, and demanding title fights in other divisions.

Dumb question.

Dude fought less than 2 months ago. Was I Jared and didn't want to rush a title fight with maybe his most dangerous opponent to make 300.

There should be a Izzy v Khaz fight for an Interim champion an that guy fight Dricus . That's the fight Dana should have went after for 300 . The I terim label matters not as Dricus has to fight 1 or the other next anyway.

<JagsKiddingMe>

Jones hasn't fought in over a year with nothing scheduled and they've had an interim champ for 4 months that he also refuses to fight, Conor left the damn sport and they took a year and a half to strip him, but they should strip the guy who just won the belt 6 weeks ago?

War Dricus !!!
When Francis did it, he was noble and righteous
Now Dricus is in mix, he’s a bad man and should be stripped
Quite telling

For a guy who just became champion, he has a lot of demands in who, where and when he wants to fight. He seems like the ultimate diva.

I actually miss Izzy at least he was very active champion.

Anywho, do you think he should be stripped from his belt, if he doesn't get an official fight signed up in the next month or so?

Update: Yes the votes are loud and clear and you guys have spoken. My mistake in asking this question. Thought it would be interesting conversation nonetheless. But yeah I'm clearly in the wrong.

funny thing the one demanding is izzy
hes like win los win lose in his last few fights

i mean wtf

Just because he's talking about UFC Africa doesn't mean he is going to turn down other fight offers. He's shooting his shot and letting the UFC know where he prefers to fight. You can't punish him for that.

May or June is a perfectly reasonable time table. Not sure what people are getting up in arms about. That he didn’t want to turn around quickly with injuries?
No clue man. When he said he wanted to hold off until a South African card I think people lost it because that isn't even on the radar yet, but I get the impression from that article that he wants that, but isn't requiring it.

The guy just fought 15 tough rounds about a month ago, why should he be forced to fight again already?

I’m thinking you may be right, people misinterpreting what he means. I don’t think he’s saying he would only fight on an Africa card that may or may not happen. Just that he wants to fight there and if that’s happening in the near future, he wants to wait for it. If not, think he’ll do whatever when he’s had time to recover and prepare, which he laid out a reasonable time table for that.

you're on sherdog, the majority of the vote is wrong 99% of the time.

100% he should be stripped if he doesn't fight soon. Injuries should be an automatic stripping of the title with a guaranteed title shot when/if you return.
