Just the clips he posted were bad enough,even without commenting on them. Most of Ariel's points,the fans would have figured out on their own anyway,but Ariel just laid it all out in devastating fashion.

I thought Ariel owned them both as well, but think he over-reacted with them wanting to get paid. "Paddy has a lot of paid booking requests right now. If BT wants to put a budget forward, we can look to get something scheduled, otherwise he has to take the paid work available." Right when Ariel got that message, he should have just left it as that and not get offended. At that point, it's just business and if they want to get paid and you don't pay, then fuck them. Find someone else to interview.

And you seem to forget that it was Ariel Helwani, even after you guys had your spat, that was still standing behind you saying your $12/$12K purse was garbage. He was the one saying you should get paid more and Dana was the one paying you pennies yet you blame the journalist instead of the man who writes your checks? You have lost quite a few fans but we all mess up. Do right by the guy who has always done right by you Paddy. From getting the facts wrong, from the optics of saying Ariel makes money off of the back of the fighter in front of the person who is personally responsible for stealing from fighters, to doubling down and calling Ariel a liar without any proof whatsoever.

If anyone really wants to know why they (media) wont pay to go on, Ben Fowlkes went thru it on his Podcast.. (Its not groundbreaking stuff though.) I have no idea why Fowlkes hasnt got a bigger following nowadays, I used to love him on Junkie, probably because of this whole The Athletic debacle though.

I hope he doesn't get mad at me for linking to an unlisted episode though.. its timestamped and ready. Maybe it can gain him a follower or two.
