Was a fan of Fowlkes from his work on MMA Junkie. Considered him the best MMA writer. Also would like to know what "The Athletic" debacle was about. I looked at their home page and it seems they don't have very much MMA content. Did they scale it way back from when they brought Fowlkes and some others over?

Yea Ben is one of the better mma writers, good on camera and has the looks as well. He could have been a big mma media personality.

For whatever reason he never capitalized on that and moved to a media hub like NY. If he would have pushed hard in that direction he would have had his own show. Raking in cash like Helwani or Luke. Instead he moved to middle of nowhere and signed up to subscription only publication that kinda tanked his career.

He gets no pass. I work in a different part of entertainment and some people just become assholes when their goal is to maximize fame. I've experienced it first hand with entertainers who I knew who became totally different people once the slightest bit of notoriety came their way.
