Except it's not. Aspinall's camp has openly campaigned for him to fight someone even if it's not Jones. I think you're confused about the power dynamic. If Aspinall throws a fit, the UFC has the leverage to throw him under the bus and pretend he doesn't exist like the did Ngannou. They believe their brand is what matters and they can sell Gane vs Almeida as "the two best HW's on earth!" and enough people will believe them for it to be a viable title fight. It's ridiculous, but it's the reality of the situation.

If they were lying and got offers for other fights and turned them down...you'd have Gane or Almeida or whoever yapping nonstop about being offered Aspinall but he turned them down. Not a peep, so there's nothing else being offered.

And it doesn't even matter because they aren't the ones who make the decision and the UFC and Dana have repeated "Relax, Jones vs Aspinall is happening. We're getting it done." They've said it to the fans, to Aspinall's camp, to everyone. They are the billion dollar company. They call the shots.

Did anyone expect Jones to have a quick turn around fight, he's only really fought once a year since 2014.

He fought in November 2024, i personally am not surprised if he doesn't fight until last quarter of 2025.

Tom has been on the sidelines for 10 months, i think he should take another fight.

I'd expect him to have a quick turnaround fight if he was a serious fighter. He didn't spend a lot of energy or incur any damage mopping up the elderly ghost of Miocic.

Everyone? See, you seem to be confused. I'm blaming literally one entity, the UFC. Full stop. They have him under contract. They set up his fights. End of story.

I dont even blame Jon Jones. It's not his responsibility to ensure Aspinall stays active and gets the fights that should happen. Jones looks out for Jones, as he should. It's the UFC that's ALLOWING this to play out this way that's the problem.
