Jon won the HW title in March of 23 then was contracted to fight Stipe. Due to injury the UFC setup an interim bought for the HW title with Gane and Tom. Tom isn't as great as everyone is making him out to be and if Jon beats him everyone will be saying that exact thing. If Tom does beat Jon then people will say Jon was over the hill past his prime.

Jon and Tom don't make the fights the UFC does, and they agree to the contracts. For all you know the UFC is offering Jon 20 million to fight and Jon is turning it down or maybe the UFC is offering 1 million and Jon wants 5....
