Is the JDM hypetrain dead?

There was never a real hypetrain… just a few casuals parroting Contender Series hype lines on a forum.

If you thought this dude could actually contend with WW beasts like Usman, Khamzat, Shavkat, Belal, Colby, Brady, etc then you don’t know a lick about MMA.

Australian Matt Brown 2-1.

JDM clearly won that fight. He also cut weight twice in two weeks and we've seen what that does to a fighter in Ferguson in the past. It's also a mixture of expectations, reactionary takes and exaggerations which usually create moments like this.

Yes, he needed to listen to his corner and make better decisions. Yes, he shouldn't have gone for those guillotines after the takedowns and instead tried to get right back up. Maybe he was pressing due to the situation. Maybe he was being reckless trying to finish. He's got room to grow and things to work on.

JDM wasn't even ranked top ten, yet everyone is talking as if he was supposed to be the second coming when he was still needing to prove himself against top competition as they tear him down. Is normal. Is stupid.

We’re digging deep in the files tonight I see…

He's fine. I'm sure his cardio suffered from having to stay at weight for 2 weeks straight. I thought it was dumb of him to take a fight that had no upside for him in the first place.

I'm sure he just wanted the money, he just got married and went on a honeymoon. Was a bad decision, but Jacks made a lot of bad decisions with his career, his gym has no one anywhere near UFC level...he'd probably have gotten exposed by Brady at 290. He needs to go train with Volk and the Hickman brothers.

Or Shavkat and Belal.

did he not? I swear he was training with craig jones. I would've figured they met through volk.

I mean he fought a guy with a seemingly granite chin who has some decent wrestling after cutting twice in two weeks, did he make some mistakes, absolutely but the guy is only 26 and has plenty of time before he even hits his prime, JDM will be fine.

A few people are saying that cutting weight twice in 2 weeks affected him quite badly.

I could see it - Ferguson did it twice in 3 weeks and he looked very slow and disoriented against Gaethje.

No its not. God,you people.

He had to cut weight twice and still won, yall need to Helax. Always trying to dramatize shit before it can even happen. Fuckin like gossipin schoolmarms.

Or Shavkat and Belal.

Who was saying he was going to in the first place? I think this is the part I don't get. JDM wasn't even ranked top ten. How he is a hype job at 14th in the division behind Garry Machado? Lol. He was working his way up to prove himself.
