News Firas Zahabi doesn't think Jones (or anybody else) beats Aspinall.

The Jones fan club is desperately grasping at straws, referencing Aspinalls loss 6 months into his mma career. 9.5 years ago.

And that it's somehow a negative that his opponent almost never survives round 1 vs him, good lord.

I'm assuming he means UFC fights.

I forgot fighters can't improve, even after a full decade of experience.

Tom is just as bad as he was when he was 21. The same way Stipe is just as great at 42 as he was at 34.
Who's the best wrestler that shot on Tom since he got taken down multiple times and submitted in 2015?

If I had to pick I'd pick Tom by KO based on the fact that Jones is washed, but there's no way anybody knows how his TDD and cardio will hold up.

I'll believe it when I see it at this point, but I'm not ready to say Jon has "no chance" against anyone yet.

Well he’s 1-1 against Blaydes, and I think Blaydes could beat him in the rubber match if he actually shows some fight iq and sticks to a gameplan this time.

Jailton could also give him some problems if he doesn’t get caught in the standup.

There’s a pretty good chance Aspinall finishes Jones within a round or two…. But unfortunately I don’t think this fight will ever happen because Jones is aware of this.

It is because Aspinall was supposedly the better grappler of the two and got outgrappled by Austin, a judo grappler, and than submitted. He is similar to jones as both use Judo trips, throws, and sweeps from the clinch and Aspinall had a problem dealing with those sweeps and trips.

So his grappling and wrestling against competent grapplers with good chins is in question. Tom could not knock Austin out and that was one of the problems, he then got out grappled and put on his back routinely and submitted.

The issue with Aspinall is no one has tested his grappling since his Austin loss. We do not even know if Aspinall can fight for 5 rounds or has the cardio for it. The problem is we do not know a lot about Aspinall.

You know nothing about MMA and watch fights with your eyes closed

I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Aspinall gets upset at some point in the near future, he is very aggressive and defencively perhaps not as good as he thinks he is but I'm not sure Jones is the most likely to do it with his lack of power.

07 join date sherbro, bow down to me
Wow, nearly 20 years on sherdog and you never once watched an MMA bout

Imagine being on a karate forum for decades and never having learned a single thing about combat sports.

"Impressive".
