Nah, I can get along fine with people who have differing views so long as they're reasonably well informed or at least have a level of confidence in what their saying that matches their level of knowledge.

You on the other hand are often confident and clueless.

I never said I was the arbiter of what a false equivalency, I just happen to think you engage in them frequently and I doubt I'm the only one. I reply to your posts because I think they're in some ways representative of a kind of lazy, cynical thinking that has become more common nowadays.

I kinda interpret his "both sides shtick" as trying to stress the opinion ain't coming from a team politics side. I dunno though, kind of a tard myself.

Get it right. Trudeau is the one who backed down by shoring up a border that he previously claimed was secure in order to stop the flow of fentanyl that he previously claimed was not an issue.

It's not a "schtick"...and it's not like I'm giving each post a disclaimer LOL. I just post a view. When I posted a bunch of times bashing Trump on the tariffs, the posts themselves were just that. I get what you're saying but it's not really me "stressing" anything in terms of the opinion coming from a political "team" (or not coming from one).

I read his post wrong and apologize for throwing shtick in there. I think his exact word was stupid. I'm just chiming in from outsiders perspective and express to him i don't believe he's interpreting your posts correctly. But, once again, I'm not the brightest so may be wrong.

Your second post ITT references the Dems and that's the one I responded so idk what to tell you, I thought it was a bad post and so I pushed back. I don't care who liked your other posts, doesn't change how I feel about the one i responded to.

All good. I just wanted to be clear it's not some act or me hoping to be seen as _________. Like I'd hope most people do, I just post my view.

He got a bug up his ass about me at some point and has made it a weird goal to paint me as an "ill informed faux centrist". He thinks if he keeps repeating it he can wish it into existence. Why? Who the hell knows LOL. Isn't the first time we've been down this road, probably won't be the last.

It's all good brother. The current landscape has everybody needing to categorize and generalize to a degree of extreme anymore. And Islam is generally a reasonable ass poster, I'm not throwing shade. The aggressive and malicious political climate has forced almost all of us to have, or be on some sort, of edge. It's terrible, sad, and disheartening. The quicker the masses realize the real issue is classism, not political affiliation, not race, not creed or religion. The quicker we may start coming out the quagmire.

Way to ignore the entire part where you try to use that post as an example of me being compelled to bash and blame the Dems on this topic even after being informed I'd actually solely blamed Trump in numerous posts for 2 days. You didn't JUST dislike that post. You extrapolated that into making a blanket statement about my views on this topic, (claiming I "blamed" the Dems when in fact I never blamed them one bit for the tariffs and only said they were inept and disconnected from the American people) were presented evidence to the contrary, and instead of doing the right thing and correcting yourself...you doubled down on your nonsense.

Correcting myself on what exactly? I stand by everything I've posted ITT and I'm not sure what you've think you've proven or what you want me to walk back exactly. You made some posts other people liked, don't care. I was responding to you ITT and to your bad posts here. Great you apparently acknowledge the obvious truth that Trump is to blame for the trade war we almost got into in some other thread, so what? Doesn't change anything about the criticisms I made ITT.

You were playing into the idea that the Dems were at fault for somehow not communicating the gravity of these tariffs when it was in fact a central campaign issue that virtually every economist agreed was a bad idea. Of course Dems didn't run an ideal campaign but that's an insane take, as if what was missing was 30 sec ads of Paul Krugman explaining how tariffs affect 401ks. No, part of the reason Trunp got elected was because people have no interest or trust in that kind of discourse. Even now look, Trumpers ITT are hailing this as a success and a vindication of the tariff strategy. Most people aren't that insane but they are cynical enough to not care until it's too late.

And yeah I do think that's in line with your typical faux centrist post.
